Yer like me I like to take my time to build any Lego sets and I don’t do it over a day or a weekend I do it over a few weeks one cos of my job I’m out all week and it’s just more fun to take your time take the home alone house I built it over 2 months a few bags every weekend and if u take your time u get to see all the little things as well
Hey there, great stand. How do you handle the weight? I mean a X-Wing Fighter is lighter than the Falcon. How come they won´t fall over? Is the Acrylic that heavy so you don´t have to worry about the weight? I wanna put my vintage Space Police SP-Striker (6781) kind of angled on a stand.
Hi, the biggest ship I've made one for is the X wing (minifig scale). It holds up no problem as long as you mount it at the canter of gravity. Of course it's just 1 2x4 plate connecting. For a bigger ship, you could try a bigger base, fatter rod, and maybe glue a sacrificial 4x6 plate to the top. Just ideas. Or maybe try 2 stands. Hope you find a solution that works for you. Good luck!
Frankly, I’m more than a little concerned about relying on a bit of paper napkin and a diaphanous layer of nylon to insulate your electronics from a shifting mass of conductive steel bbs. Cool idea, and with a bit of refinement you might even have something you could market commercially, but I wish you luck over time with this.
Ya, it's held up over the years but may be worth a refresh. The main idea was just the BBs since I could find a heavy object that would fill the space completely. I even tried concrete first. Just ideas. Thanks for stopping by.
I'm not sure. Maybe not with custom configuration the app has for the set. But maybe if you just aim to control the motor with the general functions that would probably work and then manually flip the other toggle.
Most impressive. What an excellent mod that pays great homage to the Kessel Run falcon. I will be doing this mod in lieu of making the mandibles thicker-- until I figure out a way to do both!
I saw this a year ago but could not get it bit now i can but your website is not what it used to be now it just has links to random websites i checked them all please help me.
Very helpful video review! I really appreciate your breakdown of the physics and mechanics on the lift and its braking system. Great information for curious adults like me.
I'm not a fan of breaking lego, but this does make sense. I think there could be more improvements on stud connection, and maybe some further work needed on hiding the holes/gaps on the headpiece itself. Interesting process, though!
Definitely Bricklink or Lego. I pretty much just submitted the design, they did the rest in terms of supplying parts, the box, and selling them and shipping. So sorry something went wrong. Lego did the orders and shipping, so maybe Lego is the best people to start with.
Awesome! I'm so glad it worked out for you. It was a fun project and it's wonderful to hear other people are building their own. Thanks for stopping by and have fun.
To be fair, wheels have no choice but eventually degrade. Whole mechanism depends on them working under pretty massive pressure and friction. I personally believe that replacing tires for older ones could extend the life of the mechanism since Lego few years ago went green and made their rubbery parts more biodegradable, and therefore just overall weaker, but sooner or later any kind of tire would die in mechanism like this. But then again, unless you'll keep it constantly on, I doubt you'll see any degradation of the mechanism any time soon anyways
Just found out that a firmware update was required. No instructions or help anywhere online. Had to spend an hour with tech support to find out and instructions for update are nowhere online. Expect so much more from a high end company
Thanks for this, spent hours trying to sort it out and have let Lego support know my feelings. Here's the procedure for anyone else having the same problem - Alrighty, before updating the firmware, please check if the Powered Up app needs to be updated. Once the app is up to date follow the below steps: Open the app; Tap on Create on the top right corner; Create a new project or open one of the projects you already created; Tap on the Bluetooth Connection button; Now press and hold the green button on your hub - when the light flashes purple don’t let go! Tap the “LEGO bootloader” hub that shows up in the connection dialogue in the app (while still holding the green button) When the hub light changes colour and starts flashing blue, red and green let go of the button. Keep an eye on your device’s screen so it doesn’t lock or shut off until the firmware update is complete. Once the firmware is updated the hub will restart automatically. To make sure everything is all set, restart the app as well before connecting the hub as normal again.
I have been all over the set and even replaced the power up hub. Purchased everything as listed in the instructions. The hub connects to blue tooth but nothing else happens no calibration, no motor noise, nothing. The app shows that it is sending the signal. Very discouraged. Has anyone else had this issue? I am about ready to return both motors and hub and just manually crank the thing.
@@chrisclc13 yes I did. The answer is in the next thread. Alex was kind enough to type out the instructions for the firmware update. good luck to you as well.
It was interesting to hear some background details on what being part of the program means. Didn't think about how since no new parts could be created you had to use bulk pieces (which is a shame cause the shrimp in the diving helmet sounds so cute. I wonder if the same result can be gotten using the goldfish piece from sesame street tho since that's a clear head it probably wouldn't be too visible). I did only have the time to build this theme and the other theme using bag 2, but in the morning I want to build the other themes to see how seemless the transitions are cause that's something I've been wondering since I supported it way back when. Thanks for the time. Also ngl I rly love the octopus, didn't know that little bag with the sea creatures existed and I want more for personal use now.
Yes, it was a fun process but also a lot of work in the long run...which was of course well worth it. Glad you have gotten a chance to build some. I just got mine today, so I'll have to dive in and see how it looks. Yes, that fish on a clear head might be perfect for inside the helmet. Have a grand time, thanks for stopping by!
@@mjsmiley Just finished the full thing, I like it. Maybe small for the price but the modularity helps add a lot of value. The last theme I built was the one with the red octopus and plant pieces, that's probably my least favorite since it needed more effort than the others to switch to and it didn't feel as smooth as the others to turn. Biggest negative which isn't much tbh. Overall a fun build, love turning this thing.
I got the set yesterday and had a lot of fun during the build! Thank you so much, the whole process is brilliant, and it's modular nature give access to creative and unique mods. I'm looking to the next videos for the last scenarios, the pirate sunken ship and Kraken attack are my favourite!
Awesome! Super happy yours has showed up and you already got into building it. I really like the kraken and pirate themes too. I will try to get those videos put together asap. Which themes have you tried already? Any plans to make your own themes? What fun! Cheers!
Thanks for making this, I am currently building a Kessel Run falcon to the design of 75257, and I was wondering how to make the pod still filt. I’ll be building this in white but I’m sure it’ll still look great! Thank you!
Awesome! So you are making a white version of this falcon? Are you modifying it or starting from scratch. Let me know how it goes and best of luck! Glad you like the shuttle design by the way!
@@mjsmiley hello this design looks amazing i want to get it for my 75257 millennium falcon but how do u buy the pieces because i have the partslist but is there a format or a way to upload all the peices at once to my wanted list thx
There is a bricklink studio file of this model at this link. thefarquar.com/?p=1418 . Bricklink studio let's you add all parts from a model to a composite cart where it sort of finds the fewest vendors needed to buy a bunch of parts. I don't have a step by step for that off the top of my head. You may be able to just upload the file to bricklinks website as a private model and order the parts without installing the studio software. Does this help at all?
This is the only BL set I got and it keeps getting pushed back. I can't wait to get it and make these adjustments. Big fan of your work. Keep being awesome.
Thank you so much! Ya, I haven't even gotten my copy yet. But I've seen lots of videos for it from other people on RU-vid so I guess people in some regions are getting them at least. Hopefully they come soon. Take care!
