There is a bricklink studio file of this model at this link. thefarquar.com/?p=1418 . Bricklink studio let's you add all parts from a model to a composite cart where it sort of finds the fewest vendors needed to buy a bunch of parts. I don't have a step by step for that off the top of my head. You may be able to just upload the file to bricklinks website as a private model and order the parts without installing the studio software. Does this help at all?

Oooh, well, sometimes what I do is just get it close until I can find the parts I'd rather. Often times that means I'll use parts in an odd color. It's exciting though that you are trying to build it!

I do most my individual brick buys from bricklink. There are many Canadian sellers so you may be able to get reasonable shipping.

Legos website does let you order some individual parts, but the selection is limited. I'd start with the bricks you have and see how close you can get before needing to order any. Good luck.
