Having same issue on a 2020 rzr 1000 with both stm primary and secondary. Can shift between gears without turning it off because secondary is spinning so bad. My primary pulls in when I start machine so I’m hoping just primary spring is weak
Please make a video that explains how the clutch weights and springs effect engagement and how weight and where the weight is (closest to pivot point, middle, and tip of weight) effects rpm and engagement and belt grip strength. The Helix video helped out a lot
I purchased a 2013 maverick 1000r and it has this clutch set up my question is could you help me identify it and possibly tell what I need to know about servicing it
My STM 3P doesn't have that adjustment screw hole in the clutch face and is "always engaged" or "hard to shift" even after installing (6) .020" washers in the STM Gen 2 tuner secondary. What options do I have?
Same here, but a 3RS primary on a can am maverick turbo 1000r. Chasing everything, same issue. Have you noticed the belt riding the sheave faces or is your primary bearing stuck or dying?
@@drakenameless2522 Both clutches have less than 300 miles on them and work really well besides being hard to shift. There are times when I can shift back to park with about 8 pounds of pressure. But most of the time it just won't shift unless I turn it off.
@@WeekendsExcursion Please let me know if they are able to solve the issue. I have thought about machining a spacer that is .120 that I could replace the 6 shims then add what I need on to get the clutch to freewheel
@@jschenkyou I'll come back to this. Once it is done. I have a suspicion that I have a weak spring or stuck roller. Its to the point now my belt is screaming if I come to a stop. So I'm going to send it in with a description of what my rig is, riding style, and tires being used then go from there.
You know your stuff. That was the most detailed explanation of primary and secondary clutches, spring and helix I’ve ever heard. I learn a lot today. Thank you
Movaeble sheave as it moves outwards, the groove angles determine how much load the compression spring will compensate, the steeper angle the groove has,the lighter load a spring can give, thus translate to torque.
What modifications do you recommend to get as much of a slow throttle lead in as possible? I can't Reverse my 850 XC without crashing into things because the throttle is so direct and binary.
seriously you sell a 4k clutch and can't even make a video that we can hear? the music is too loud and the voice is terrible echos and not enough volume
I just put a muddee clutch kit in my textron stampede 900 and everything seems good and responsive but seems to be turning alot of rpm for the speed if you could try and help me I would seriously appreciate it
Softer finish rate springs in primary or secondary ill lower mid range cruising RPM put will loose overall performance Adding weight to the cam arms in the primary will also lower RPM
@@MrSupremetoolinc okay cause it just seems like no matter what it wants to run at least 4k all the time even at like 10 15mph and 5500 at 30ish it will reach its top speed at 60 like 7900, and I believe it revs to 8000. Shortly after testing, it started to run hot cause it seemed to be working way to hard. Also low gear feels pointless and if you step on it it will go for a second but then seems to over rev and feels like somethings slipping or doesn't wanna go anywhere.
@@redneckway1602 you cant compare our rates and angles to stock as they operate differently. This video may help find the answers you are looking for... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8E6VpMdIIVs.html
Depends on what conditions you're driving in. Dunes and launch control you want to have that "clutch drop". Especially if you're doing drags as the dunes
