Having same issue on a 2020 rzr 1000 with both stm primary and secondary. Can shift between gears without turning it off because secondary is spinning so bad. My primary pulls in when I start machine so I’m hoping just primary spring is weak
@@chasebell2963 Yeah, I took it back to the factory and they said it need $375 worth of work. (They basically said it needed to be completely rebuilt). I had them fix it, then sold the OG Mav and bought an X3. I don't have anything good to say about STM considering I drove that machine like a granny.
Having the same problem. I just bought a used maverick that was hard to get into gear. Was told it was all stock and just needed the shifter linkage adjusted. Well that wasn't it. Tore the cover off and found out the clutch was dragging which is what brought me here 🤦🏻♂️
@@SHOTS-FIRED it was probably never cleaned. Blow it all out with brakekleen. Usually the secondary will need a shim behind it if the belt is grabby or hard to shift. That's the easy one to remove.
@@SHOTS-FIRED when you pulled the cover you then saw it was a STM ? Or is it the OEM primary? Turbo or NA ? What year. ? If your still having shifting issues let me know. Lots of factors can cause that outside of needing to shim the secondary which is where a lot of people will tell you to go right of the bat. Not always the case
