Piracy is good for the gaming industry. I would have never played a single videogame and therefore would have never spent a single dime on Steam as an adult if I hadn't had the chance of playing pirated games as a money-less kid during the late 90's and early 2000's. And my story is similar to millions of Latin American, African and Asian kids.
I'm just going to say it, Breath of the Wild is overrated, and Tears of the Kingdom is just glorified dlc. The overworld is great in BotW and TotK, but that's really all it's got going for it. I remember when dungeon design and interesting boss fights were the bread and butter of the Zelda series. Now, it's just another open world game. We have a million of those. All I want is a Zelda game that can combine the dungeon design with the overworld and then, we'd have something truly amazing. As it is now, it's only half that, and it's being celebrated like some massive sea change when all it is, is another classic series aping what pretty much everything else is doing.
I'm convinced you haven't even played most of these games. Dragon Force the hardest rpg ever? It's easy especially after the first play through and broken to an extent. Still an amazing game though.
Rambo was a great game. My frustration with the system was the monopoly Nintendo had on third party support like Konami. Some of these games I never saw released here in the states.
I know you can only fit so many games on the list, and it was a solid list. But personally I would have also included mafia 2, and the simpsons game. But again your list was solid!
I think the SNES (16 bit in general) had the highest fun factor of any console. Game creators weren't completely focused on graphics yet, so they could focus mostly on how fun a game was. I have a theory about the "limited" graphics keeping the player's imagination active during game play to fill in the blanks. Also, Contra update: Contra Operation Galuga is out now!!! I haven't got a chance to play it yet, but the trailer looks awesome.
Was thinking about getting an OLED Vita, but if that's the best it has to offer I don't think it's worth it. Plus, a bunch of these games I've already played on Steam.
Well, dang. I never heard of a couple of these consoles. A beer koozie that doubles as a game system? Somehow I missed that one. Also, I thought your vulture was going to let out a noise while he was in the middle of those concentric circles. You know, like Leo the MGM lion. But what noises does a vulture make?
