I am Japanese. When I was a child, I watched this anime and shed tears and thought seriously about the meaning of love. I am grateful to the Japanese animators of this era who took children seriously and taught them the beauty and sadness of love, rather than trying to make money at the box office. In case you are wondering, Sanrio, the company that created Hello Kitty, was the creator of this animation, and the first president of Sanrio himself was the creator of this story.
My mom and I saw this in the theater when it came out. I was a kid and I remember thinking this was the weirdest shit I EVER saw. 50 years later nothing has changed.
To think, at one point John Boornman was working on a screen adaptation of Lord of the Rings, which (sadly?) never got made. Between this film and the script that's circulating out there, I can only imagine what might have been. Though no matter what, I'm sure it would have been as entertaining as watching a freight train filled with fireworks go flying off the rails while high on LSD.
The movie that changed my life forever that made me walk around and chant The gun is good! The penis is eeevvvvilll And never in my life would I imagine seeing someone die by jazz hands
@@ahmedhistoryMAafter watching the trailer. It made me say "The director of this movie ditched regular drugs to sniff the weirdest popcorn concoction to come up with a movie like that"
@@bestthingsinceslicedrice It's more than the best I've ever seen, and it changed my artistic choices. Surrealism, eccentricity and some philosophy. It's the secret, and since then I was introduced to the film Zardoz....
It's a shame the film is so rough around the edges, even by cheap 70's standards. It's seriously shoddy, but has some interesting ideas. From what I recall, Boorman couldn't really afford to do 2nd or 3rd takes a lot of the time, such was the hilarious budget and time constraints. (At least I think this is the film that relates to).
Hello, je viens juste vérifier son placement derrière une toile. Nous n avons plus de nouvelle de lui et lui non plus. Et nous recommencerons devant ce nouveau ciel que vous souhaitiez. Sa vue sans écriture.
