I have been dressmaking for about 14 years. Although I have have always sewn various different things since I can remember.
In the last year I discovered the sewing community, got involved in instagram and then RU-vid. I love all things creative, sewing is a way for me to express that creatively in what I wear. Join me on my journey to an 100% handmade me made wardrobe.
Watch my channel to see my makes, fabric hauls, sewing pattern reviews and more. I am so glad to be part of this community.
I post a video each week on a Sunday and sometimes additional videos if I have time!
Seamstress, sewist, sewer, dressmaker all different names for people who love sewing, just like me.

Thank you for a very informative review. I have just bought the pattern and printed it off. Nice to know that I may have some issues but hopefully I will sort them because of your help. x

I have taken a break to complete my masters in education. Full time work along with some chronic health conditions is a bit too much with my masters as well. So I don’t have time for sewing or videos at the moment. My masters finish’s in September so hopefully then I will have some extra time to work on other projects.

I have similar measurements to you and I agree, the named block is great! Made the reeta and love it. Also Highly recommend the kielo wrap dress, looks insane on a big hip to waist ratio as well as the tynni trousers, two butt darts curved waist facing!

I'm trying to decide which fabric to buy, cotton or jersey, for a plaid overskirt for my big 25 yard peasant skirt for Highland Weekend at Renaissance Festival this year. I was thinking cotton is the best choice, it seems to be stiffer(??)but I don't know anything about jersey- after seeing this, I'm really not sure! Help!😊❤ I want to make a simple handkerchief overskirt,( REALLY simple, lol, I don't really sew except by hand😂) It's going over a cotton skirt and I want it to lay right, but have enough structure that it holds some shape, too, so it's not just lost in the folds of my big skirt! Your thoughts would be sooo helpful! Thanks! Hugs from Texas!😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@VoiceofaCreative
@VoiceofaCreative Год назад
So jersey is tricky if you are sewing by hand because it will stretch as you wear it and the stitches could snap. It is also quite heavy which becomes a lot if you are using a lot of fabric, so unless it was a a simple aline skirt I probably would use jersey. Cotton is stiffer but also lighter and easier to sew by hand. Thanks for watching.

What stich do I use to sew a small chain on my curtains without breaking the needle?
@VoiceofaCreative
@VoiceofaCreative Год назад
I’m not sure what you mean, if its a metal chain I would probably hand sew it.

Just making mine now, love your style of chatting and sewing. My kielo pattern doesn't have darts or a short sleeve option 🤔
@VoiceofaCreative
@VoiceofaCreative 2 года назад
i think the new pattern doesn’t have darts, I have the old pattern. For short sleeves you can just cut them off, I would compare to a tshirt sleeve to get the length. 😊

Thank you for this video. I do love the pleated detail of the sleeves. I have just made the Vera T-Shirt. I love it. This is definitely my perfect t-shirt pattern. I am planning to do more with the scoop neckline variation and the Iris.

Great to see you back, Kealy! I absolutely love the colors of those bamboo cotton jerseys. I've been crushing hard on bamboo jersey lately, and now I'm feeling like I need to find out about this fabric! It sounds like the perfect t-shirt fabric. I hope you can find some time to sew new things that you love. I can only imagine how challenging that is, though. You sound busy! Good luck striking that balance.

Welcome back and congrats on your masters! I love that bamboo jersey. I have it in the plum as well as the khaki, cream and dark mint. It's basically the only jersey I'll use for t-shirt now because that bamboo/cotton is so perfect!
