Hello Everyone,
This is my January 2021 sewing makes. I managed to make 4 cosy jersey items this month, 3 went really well but I am not so pleased with one of the makes. Looking forward to getting lots of wear out of these makes in the coming months.

It’s lovely as usual to see your makes. I agree the burgundy cardigan is too large on you. Thank goodness for the positive news on your thyroid surgery and recovery. So sorry Bramble is ill. Our last cat, Pookie the Beast, developed bone cancer very quickly at age 9 so we had no chance for treatment. She was quite a character and a good companion.

Best of luck on your treatments. You sound great and taking this in stride which will aid in your recovery. Poor little kitty. It’s so hard to see these things happen to our fur babies. Love the green Billie sweatshirt. Looks very good on you.

Lovely makes. I think the cropped Marlo may suit you better and be more sporty and flattering. You should just crop that one, and narrow the sleeves since it's such a beautiful color. You definitely didn't need to grade out at the hip since the design is oversized. You can make it work. I always love your tops and want to make more for myself. I'm glad your recovery is going well and wishing a speedy recovery for your kitty as well.

Thanks for watching. its really tricky because its been super scary but I have really tried to take it in my stride. Which I think has helped my mental health overall which is good. Hopefully Brambles treatment will help him stay with me for a long while yet.

I’m so glad that you’re recovering well from your surgery. I am so sorry to hear about your cat. I lost my cat to leukemia and it was very hard for us. I’m thinking positive thoughts for you and I’m praying that your radiation treatments go well. I love all of your sewing makes. You’re incredibly talented. ❤️

I am new to sewing and am inspired by all the wonderful makes everyone does. I am planning to do the Billie top at some point so fingers crossed I will manage it . Glad your surgery went well. I hope all is well with your treatments! So sorry to hear about your kitty. It often seems harder to face when they get sick than when we do. Sending all good thoughts and prayers your way! Your makes are lovely. I must say, I prefer the beautiful green cardi to the red one. The color is so pretty and it fits you beautifully.

Sorry to hear about Bramble, I lost both my two senior cats to Lymphoma. But lovely Sibyl did last a whole fourteen months after diagnosis, so I do hope you'll have Bramble's company for a while longer x

I love your Billie sweatshirt - the fabric is gorgeous. Glad that you’re recovering well - I have been on Levothyroxine for years for an under active thyroid and get more tired than most people. Given the surgery, you must be feeling shattered - take care and only do what you can manage xx

Kiely I agree with you regarding that wine coloured Marlo cardi. Those sleeves are way too big n baggy. I think the Blackwood suits you so much better. Love the leaf print Billie sweater.

So good to hear your operation was a success. Sorry your cat is ill, hopefully his treatment will be successful. Your sweaters are all lovely unfortunately your cranberry cardigan is too big but I feel sure you have found the solution to fix it. I enjoy watching all your makes.🇦🇺

I write the same in a notebook but also add a snippet of the fabric. You will improve all the time, once the Thyroxine kicks in. At least your husband will be able to find you, as you will glow in the dark. Ha ha! Poor bramble, you will have to give him extra cuddles xxx

Ahh thats a good idea to add the fabric. Yes week on week I feel much better. I'm actually surprised I didn't actually glow, just normal me! Yes spending lots of time with Bramble now.

Firstly , very pleased that your treatment is going well and you’re handling it extremely well. It’s great that you’ve still been able to have the treatment at this time. I’m having my first radiotherapy treatment next week and for three weeks. Sorry to hear that Bramble has an issue and I’m sending positive vibes for his speedy recovery. He’s so lucky to have you to look after him. Green was a lovely theme, great makes and lovely fabric. I agree with you on the burgundy sweater. It reminds me of an American football sweater. I think what you have planned for it will make it an improved fit. Keep it up and stay strong x

I have really been trying to stay strong through my treatment, mainly because I think that will help my mental health. I hope your treatment goes well too. it does look a little like a football sweater, hopefully it will be better when I alter it. Thanks for watching.

the burgundy cardigan does not due you justice. Everything else you make is so great. I just had a fail and I will donate it or take it to resale. Live and learn. I love the Billie. I was worried about the neckline but it looks just right.

Thanks, I do lower the neckline on the Billie, because it was a little high when I first made it. Its always frustrating to make something which isn't quite right, my mum is going to try it and otherwise I will try to alter it before giving it away.

I didn’t realise you had cancer cells in your thyroid, I’m so pleased your operation went well and that you are making a good recovery. I’m sorry your cat is poorly and hope she responds to the treatment quickly. I love your makes and particularly love the jungle design on the fabric for your TATB Billie top, it’s a fab top. I enjoy your videos and find them really helpful as I have been wanting to start dressmaking for a long long time but lack confidence. Glad your surgery went well and good luck with the subsequent treatment x I loved the first green T-shirt on you and the Blackwood cardigan really, really suited you with the adjustments that you had made. Although the colour of the red sweatshirt really suited your skin tone, and the sew looked very professional, I thought it swamped your figure, good luck with the hacks if you choose to do them. Some lovely makes, I understand what you mean about the true bias cardigan. It looks fine but a little baggy and if your usual style is more fitted (tailored?) you won’t feel your best. Hope you manage to make changes enough to make you feel more comfortable. I’d be interested to see how the cropped version comes up..... So glad to hear your surgery went well and you are recovering, I hope the rest of your treatment goes smoothly and your soon given a clean bill of health. So sorry to hear about Bramble, hoping that he gets through the treatment and is able to be happy and pain free for a long time yet 🐱

I love your green top and cardi.With the maroon cardi I think it's just too big.Why not turn it inside out and hand tack the excess from the sleeve and sides.Try it on this way and if you like it you can sew or overlocker it and remove the excess. I'm glad your treatment is going well.I'm sending Brambles lots of love so the treatment will,hopefully,work.

Love the green top & cardigan you showed initially, look great on you. The Billy sweatshirt is my favourite, love the fabric you chose and you wear it well. Not so sure on the wine coloured cardigan, agree with you about the shape of the arms but dont think the style really suits you. Glad your op went well and hope your follow up treatment goes to plan. So sorry to hear about Bramble your cat, fingers crossed his treatment works. I can appreciate how worried you are about your pussycat, as I have both a cat and dog. My cat George is quite elderly around 15/16 & I will see if I can get an appointment at the vet tomorrow, as he keeps being sick and we can’t work out why.. Take care, and don’t push yourself too hard & make she you get enough rest. (Sorry, not meant to nag).

Thank you for another great video! We have the same shape and size so I love seeing what you’ve made and knowing that the pattern would look similar on me. The Plantain is my favorite tee pattern. Thank you for the information on changes on the Helen’s Closet Cardigan. Also I wanted to try the Billie and it looks adorable on you so I will try it! I’m glad your surgery went well. I hope you continue to do well. Also I’m sorry to hear about your sweet kitty. I took my sweet baby to the vet last month with an infected tooth and she died of a heart attack while they were pulling it under anesthesia 😭😭😭😭😭😭 There’s a hole in my heart 💔

Its more that they were outside when I was filming, Bramble almost knows when the camera is on and runs away. Hopefully the treatment keeps him well for a good while yet. thanks so much for watching and for your kind words.

Thanks for this Keeley. First of all best wishes for all your medical stuff, sounds like you are well on the mend to me, great! Second, I hope Bramble does well too. Thirdly, many thanks for the Marlo cardi review. I was about to start on the long version but having heard your comments I think I will make the cropped one. I think the cropped one looks modern but the long version could turn out too much like "my grandad's cardi". I must admit I wasn't sure about this pattern at first but thought it would be different and everyone seemed to be raving about it. We will see!

Loved all your Jan makes - have to agree about the Marlo Sweater, I loved all the pictures on Instagram but when I made it I felt exactly as you did. The sleeves were way to big and it was too oversized for me. Not sure that going down a size would help, I think the shape just wasn’t right on me. So sorry to hear about Bramble x

I am just about to make the Billie sweatshirt as well, and I wonder if you lowered the neckline on yours as it seems quite high on the pattern. I think the neckline on yours looks fabulous! Yes I have really enjoyed journaling about my makes. My mum is going to try the marlo but then I will alter it if she doesn't like it. I love that blackwood as well definitely going to try and make more.

Crop the Marlow. It is just too big as it is but if you cropped it you would get the boxy look that it is designed for.

I see the wine coloured sweater more as a slouchy at home on the couch kind of thing, or a sweater jacket with a nice big infinity scarf. Definitely the Blackwood is the slimming feminine shape , however this is warm and snuggly. I will wait to see what you do with it :)

Loxe your first three makes, but that Marlow doesn't suit you, too long and too wide, I'm sure you'll be able to fix it though. I was going to ask about the neckline on your Billie, but I see you've already answered that. Your journal is beautiful, love the script. I think I'll start recording my makes too, not that I've made many, but good to look back on. I hope your little kitty improves and you have more time together Thanks for a great video

Thanks, yes I have lowered the neckline and taken a little off the sides and back. I think its an inch at the front grading to half inch off the sides and back. Otherwise it rubs against my neck and scar and irritates me. 😊 thanks for watching.

I got the simply lettering magazine at first, the bought the modern calligraphy magazine. I did some of the activities, but now I look up a font on dafont, and then just draw from it 😊
