We are entrusted with the development, maintenance and upgrading of the road network and other public infrastructure in the Maltese Islands.
Our responsibilities range from multi-million investments in the redesign and redevelopment of the country’s busiest road network nodes to the development, reconstruction and maintenance of residential streets in all localities of the Maltese Islands.
Sad to see too much traffic and over-development on Gozo because the best thing about it is the quiet and easy-going lifestyle. (Ghajnsielem is the best village!)
I'm Tunisian and it always brings a smile to my face hearing these people speak (despite Italian pollution) in their dialect. Its almost Tunisian *Arab* (with some Italian pollution) As a youngster myself and my family would often pop over to Malta on summer vacations which is very close to us via the Tunisian coastal islands. I would often see the Maltese fishermen bobbing up and down in their quaint little fishing vessels chattering away among themselves (like they do here) in what I can only describe as their (almost) quaint sounding dialect of Tunisian Arabic (with Italian pollution) and could understand them often. They and our own Tunisian fishermen would often "island hop" between mainland Tunisia, the coastal islands, Gozo and Malta proper and as a result, maintained a dialect continuum between the two dialects or "languages" of Maltese and Tunisian Arabic🇹🇳🧡🇲🇹
I remember the German Apollo Circus and the Italian La Veglia Circus giving shows at the Schreiber Ground in the mid-fifties.I also remember watching from our classroom, the animals (not the lions) of the Apollo being walked up Guze` d'Amato Street towards the Schreiber.Ex-world war II german heavy vehicles were their means of transport.Regarding the arcade which stood at the very top of Arcade Street,under which many used to shelter whenever it rained,and which spread from the government block on one side to the De Paule Band Club ,this was demolished when the block was built around the late fifties/very early sixties.On the other side of the band club where the block stands,was the open-air Regal theatre where mostly operas were shown.
Nice to see this Tunisian family talking about courting, love, romance and marriage. Great traveling around the *Arab* world and watching how they *(Arabs)* do it (despite Italian pollution) These very westernised Tunisians speak of romance and marriage.
June 2022 ?.. What also would be fantastic, would be if you build underground tunnels from Saint Julian's, Saint Paul's Bay and Valletta to the Airport 🙏
