English lavenders. The Latin name will start with angustifolia. My favorite is Royal Velvet. There is a great tasting French lavender called Provence. Hope this helps.
You are amazing lavender lady ! Please show us more your videos. I just got 2 lavender plants for my family. The first one is Spanish Lavender and the second is English Lavender. Wish you the best for your work and life. 👍💯💜
Lavender loves full sun. It can grow is less light but it will grow slower, have bigger leaves, and fewer flower spikes in partly shady conditions. The plant will also grow in the direction of the most light. Hope this helps!
❔I live on the Oregon Coast in Zone 9b about a mile inland from the ocean. Is there a lavendar that might work in costal conditions? Thank you for your wonderful video! 😊🌟
This lovely lavender lady reminds of my friend Tammy Faye who died a few years ago and has left a big hole in my life and in my heart. Of course I subscribed.
I have Sarah Bernhardt Peony plant I want to put Lavender plant near it. I want a good smelling lavender plant that will smell good with peony smell , get rid of mosquitoes and look good together with Sarah Bernhardt Peony . Plz suggest me which lavender plant I should get English, Spanish or French Lavender plant. Thanks in advance .
Hi Julie.. My grandsons gave me 4 2" Spanish Lavender seedlings back in June. They are 10-12" tall now. I live in Canada. We can get nasty winter weather. 🥶 They are in small fabric bags. Do you think they will survive winter If I put the small bags into large bags, filled them with leaves and brought them into the shed? Or Dig a hole put bags in and cover ? This is my first time growing Lavender. Time is running out I can not find any help for winterizing such young plants. If you have a video , can you send me the link. I couldn't find it ... Cheers from Toronto
wow that was the fastest reply I've ever had 😂😂Were you just sitting there waiting for me lol 😂😂 What would you do with them ? Do you have any ideas ?@@SauvieIslandLavenderFarm
Wonderful idea and great tutorial! Thabk you for sharing your idea. Me and the gals liie to get together to do a craft this time of year and broom making was on the list.
Well, if SHTF ever, and society gets upended -- I'll at least be able to harvest all the lavender from the neighborhood and make a broom out of it. I'll be the "broom-maker" and people will come to me for brooms. 😅I found this video because I have some dried rosemary twigs and a handful of dried lavender stems and wanted to make a mini halloween witchy broom decoration with it. I didn't think lavender brooms as an actual broom was a thing though, this is pretty cool. Thanks for sharing!
Not sure of the brand but it has a 20 year lifespan. It’s dark thick and has green measurements lines woven in. It can be ordered up to 12 foot widths. I prefer 3 ft width and got my last few rolls at my local feed and seed store.
Can you tell me please, do deer eat the lavender, or will they naturally leave it alone? Loved this video, as we purchased a home in southern Oregon and would like to plant lavender. Hoping to find both English and French varieties. BTW, my husband lived on Sauvie Island in the late 80’s. Such a beautiful place!
The best explanation I’ve ever watched about the differences. I’ve been trying to figure out which kinds I have and what I can use them for, but all the information out there is contradicting each other. Even the tags on my plants were wrong. I just harvested a big container full of English lavender and am excited to use it in the kitchen. Looking forward to harvesting my French lavender plants in a couple of weeks, too.
I have no idea what Lavender I bought I got it just to display on my outdoor new shelves lol. Now I know I have French Lavender because it has very strong fragrance. So informative I learned something new today. Thank you!
I bought some lavender yesterday and I thought that lavender was just lavender. I was expecting the lavender you see in provence France but it has no flowers on it- so I don't know if it's supposed to bloom or if it's just the lavender leaves. It's a learning experience though.
Was this video ever a big help. I bought a lavender plant, and have no clue what and where to cut. Your visual was so helpful. Thank you so much for this.
