English lavender plants can be started from seeds. But you do not have to buy a packet of seeds if you already have English lavender in your garden! I will share with you how lavender seeds are dispersed naturally to grow new starts. I also talk about a bug that could be considered a pest but not for the reason you may think.
Who am I? I am Julie Cleveland, owner of Sauvie Island Lavender Farm. I have been growing lavender commercially for 16 years. I love sharing my love of growing, cooking, and crafting with lavender.

I watched the last video with the audio issues, and was disappointed, so I'm really looking forward to watching the fixed video. I'm just getting started with lavender here in NC zone 7 and have 11 plants I care for. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Thanks for the videos! I just watched them all. I am in north Alabama and want to plant these between my crape myrtles. Would you suggest I wait to buy plants next spring or if I can find some now, should I pot grow them until fall and plant? I love the smell of them so I will be looking for french! Thanks!

I'm not familiar with your growing climate. I am zone 9 and can plant in the summer and water until established.

Love watching! Do you grow different types of lavender or only English lavender?

I grow French - Grosso lavender and a smaller amount of several English varieties. I have a couple of Spanish in my landscaping. Thanks for watching!

Julie, thank you again for sharing! In the background you have some raised beds of lavender, did you have to amend the soil and has the fabric helped? Thank you😁

In my new location I did amend. And weed cloth is a lifesaver.
