I’m a Falcons fan and am glad Jerry Glanville traded Brett Favre. He would have never been as successful as he was in a Falcons uniform. On another note Jerry Glanville is a complete dumb ass
Met Pete in 1980 he came to town with the Phillies for their expo game vs Reading.I waited at the locker room he was the first one to come out eating a tomatoe. He signed my book asked me how was the weather here.He was very nice.

Went to his first home game when he became a STL Blue. I felt like the standing ovation was for 10 mins. Never forget it. It was so loud for so long. Greatly deserved for The Great One!
I am just ever so grateful to have been a teenager when Wayne entered into the NHL. I enjoyed watching him every week on Hockey Night in Canada, as well as live several times in Vancouver against the Canucks. He dominated most games I watched. I still remember how much he was admired EVERYWHERE. Such a genuine guy. Love you Wayne. You deserve every accolade sent your way.
I worked at The Boiler in the late ‘80’s and both The Oilers and The Kings came in after his first game back after hours and stayed until about 8:00 AM. Bottled beer cost $2.25 each in those days and he was paying for them with $10 USD’s, keep the change every time. Most players were tipping big, a couple tipped normal, a couple stiffers, but us 3 BT’s each made about $2500 in tips that night. That was serious coin for the times. I bought a motorcycle with my windfall.
USC would have avd did smash Bama back then ... Afterwards it forced bear Bryant to accept black players as their Aryan tean lost at home to USC .. 42-7 or something.... It was the day the SEC became segregated
Clemens' ego would not permit telling the truth about PED's. I can tell you 100% that he partook. Not my cousins' cousins' brother in law type of deal. More like told to me first hand.
To broaden a lot of the comments below. There were any number of "cheats" at the Seoul Olympics. It has been said quite a few more tested positive, but it was felt that silence was required officially, "for the good of the sport." All serious followers of track know fully well that a number of WRs (primarily on the women's side) set in the 1980s, are still standing in early 2024.
Why is this piece of s**t being interview and being able to go on about his career and Ben Johnson. Lewis was caught not once, not twice, but three time before the 1988 Olympics for a banned substance. This a fact not a suspicion and was he aloud to run. Once it could be considered a mistake, but 3 times it was deliberate. But of course the US Olympic committee let him compete. Complete B.S. But that's how the US team operates, they don't care how they win.As long as they do.
If I remember correctly Knight was going to give his pre-game speech before the gold medal game. He found a note from Jordan that said, "Coach, don't worry, we've put up with too much shit to lose now" After that he skipped the speech lol
As a young ballplayer, Pete spent a lot of time around Waite Hoyt and now, he's become him. They're two of the greatest baseball storytellers that ever lived.
And should have been the sportsman's of the last 25 years in 1900s Sports Illustrated, and I think they gave it to Michael Jordan....what a joke. Gretzky's records still stand....there is a reason.
I don't like how they immediately skipped his two best years in Toronto. Kind of annoying how they dismiss the interworkings how he had his two best years ever.
Dude is built with the finest genetic material of a man. The iron man and hit king of the majors. And on top of this he is intellectually very sound and looks great for 83 friggen years old. A true America treasure.
Thank you Coach Freddie! You truly are our adopted brother from another mother! You guided Manny to become what he is today. We are truly grateful to you. ❤
