You really needed to show how the enter buttom gives you a list of all the category sounds instead of the waveforms. This is essential when you have 150+ patches like Synth Bass, Leads, etc. otherwise it looks like you get one patch per category of model.
So much fun with a midi keyboard. 8 banks of patches for the 60 snd 106. You get SO MUCH out of this little synth ! Plus it doesn't lose half its value when you walk out the door. Ive seen used ju06a marked higher in price then brand new ones !
I miss my JX3P. I gave it to my son (hoping he would play) when I moved to Europe, just didn't want to risk flying with it. Sadly it still sits in his closet unplayed.
That's a great question and a bit challenging to answer, to be honest! Both are great to learn synthesis on because of their knobby design. Lots of parameters accessible and controlled with the hardware. I think the System-8 is more complex in that the different plugouts activate different knobs so that could get confusing. But then, the Juno-X has ZEN-Core and model expansions too. Both are superb bits of gear and either will help folks learn. They're priced almost the same. Juno has an extra octave. System-8 is ACB. Juno has iArp, System-8 has classic arp. ALl said and done I'll go with the Juno-X as it is more left to right. System-8 is left to right, but up and down too!
Nice video !!! Is there an HOLD key fonction on the Juno X as on the JUNO 60 ? I’m not talking about ARP hold but just about a classic HOLD fonction. Thanks a lot !!!!!
You managed to create a really great sound, I like it amazingly! Now the only problem is that I have to experiment with something similar... of course I can't wait! 🙂
Help me please !!! Tengo el Roland pero mi miedo es actualizarlo y que se pierda las antiguas escenas. Alguien sabe si se pierden ? Y si no se pierden van a parar algún sitio ? Se puede actualizar con un pec drive ? Que alguien me ayude porfavor
I have the Fantom 8 and I don't think I'm getting this upgrade.....not fully convinced if it's worth it.....yes, Nord in my opinion have the best Pianos of any Boards outhere with Yamaha Montage in 2nd place, some say Korg over montage
...tell me, I bought a phantom from my own hands, EX is installed there, I can’t install anything from my account (should I delete the license?) Won’t EX crash?
I have a problem: I downloaded it, then transferred it to the USB stick and when I inserted it into the Fantom and carried out the procedure as I always did and it was right, the moment the Fantom turned on completely, jx-3p does not appear in the ACB expansion section, only the other 2 already installed appear (jp-8 and 101) I double-checked that it is downloaded onto the stick and it is, I tried downloading again,I honestly don't know what the problem is, do you have any idea what it could be, help please, thanks in advance.
When you get to the screen that shows the two ACN expansions, press install at the bottom right of the screen. That then reads the USB stick and will show what files are there that can be installed. That should be you sorted now.
@@------YeahOK------ Ah, sorry, I forgot to specify this too: I pressed the install button but nothing appears since this expansion wouldn't fit on the stick, but it's there, I checked.
@@christianthompson1473 100% incorrect. The Fantom 0 series was never advertised as have the “same power” as the flagship model. It was made clear from the beginning that the 0 series had less processing power, memory, etc.

It’s funny, but I just purchased a Fantom 6 today. It was on sale and also included the EX upgrade for free (a Roland Australia offer I believe) So far, it’s absolutely awesome!
That doesn’t sound right. My unit doesn’t cut off any sound changing scenes. I have been watching the Roland Fantom tutorial videos and they have saved me lots of time working how to navigate your way around. Highly recommended
From day one Roland should have installed a multitrack audio recorder in this like the Fantom G. Then it would be an absolute winner with no computition. Nice sounds. Though, the new Yamaha Montage may be better. And, even the much cheaper Akai key 61 is snapping at it's heels. No audio recording. Big mistake
I am very happy indeed ..I have been looking for a group to exchange ideias, patches, scenes etc ref Fantom 6 mostly PADS that Sir Vangelis used to play on his masterpieces. Thaks so much for this and all your other videos about Fantom 6...Im newby ob this gear...updated to EX.
EX is a fantastic upgrade to an already highly capable keyboard. Hope you enjoy - and yes with things like velocity triggering, you get totally into V territory!
I am confused when I go to the part as you did at 3:47 in the video. My light in the yellow buttons 5 to 8 are Off but in yours, they flash. Any ideas why? I only bought this days ago and it might be a new firmware version compared to yours
holy moly 😮 will check that rn! thanks mate! EDIT: Works like a Charm. I dove deeper into the Key Settings and set the KBD Touch to Light and the Velo Offset to +8....damn, absolute new Instrument to me, as a Piano Player, the System 8 was always so unexpressive to me, but this changes everything, thanks for that 🐇🕳️ ❤️
Great review .Thanks. Question : can i go from version 2.00 to this paid ex version or must i before update to 3 and then EX. I think that i can go from firm version 2 to EX because EX includes all the previous update ....? Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed the vid. Yes, you are right. No need to install v3 first. Is it possible to assign ifx or mfx parameters to be controlled by velocity? From the name of your video I thought this might be what you’re doing but of course it’s not quite the same thing.
These sound like the standard junk factory sounds that are in most synths. I haven't heard one pad sound just alot of junk. Can't use most of these sounds without a hell of alot of tweaking.
I love your childlike enthusiasm when opening a new keyboard, I am exactly the same myself! It looks and sounds great, and I wish you many happy hours with it Neil! Enjoy! 👍
