I found Dovo blades to get me the closest shave ever. Ive just ordered tabac and alt innsbruck without knowing what they smell like, i like old style scents anyway so here hopes.
I suspected when you said you were going to straighten that bent teeth of the vintage safety razor I already know it will break off its very fragile should have just let it be.
That short handle version is very beautiful.just one question that plastic knob I think gives it a lot of class it's got that retro 1950s look what's your opinion on it?
I loved the chrome finish, which helped with a slick lather. You can upgrade the razor to a metal adjuster, but is quite pricey. It’s very efficient, which makes a shave very easy. I preferred the short handle over the long handle variant.👍💈
@@stephenmkeer yeah I’m sure it can’t be much harder than Williams. Plus it’s been about four years since I tried Williams when I first started WetShaving…..and I’m a lot better at lathering now so I’m sure I could whip up a good “FAT” Lather lol
@@magnoliamike if you leave it in some water for a minute, then drain it you should get a thick creamy lather. My only problem with it,is that when it dries it cracks and shrinks.
LOL nice shave den bro, I have now like 6 months of being part of this and I have in my collection an omega boar brush, omega aftershave balm and omega shaving cream with some disposables razor that I have to finish before buying a new DE razor :), but hey! with some hardwork I will increase my shave den :D, cheers from México!
Another great metal polish to use is Meguires all metal polish which was recommended by a fellow shaver (Kevy Shaves) which is safe on De razors I used it on my razors and the finish is great
Any blade in the R89 works well. The head is the same as the Edwin Jagger, but for some reason shaves better. The Voskod blade is one of my top blades. So a top razor, with a top blade has to shave well. The Kai blade is great too, they are slightly thinker so you can get more shaves from them.👍
I have the Piccolo, the Grande and the Slant so I had to try this even though I love aggressive razors. The Gentile is like using no blade but will give you a BBS in three passes. You can also shave fast with it without fear! It’s better than the DE89, I’d say a notch above it. I also went for the gold. It’s a great razor and ideal for beginners.
@@stephenmkeer I’ve heard lots of compliments like that but they are pretty cheap. I’ve never had a problem with any of mine. They’re superb shavers and I also own an R94 Rocco and an R41 so fair play to Fatip. Did you try the Lo Storto Slant? It’s incredible.
Hello The Suffolk Shaver. I love watching your channel. I have a few questions for you, I would be glad if you answered. 1. What is your favorite shaving cream product ever? 2. What is your favorite aftershave lotion to date? Good luck ...
Thank you for watching my videos and for you questions. I didn’t have as many shave creams like I have soaps,I would have to say the body shop macca root as it is really slick. As far as after shaves go,that is a lot tougher to answer. I would have to say barrister and Mann after shaves, they smell really good and they include witch hazel. I hope my answers are good enough.😲👍
@@maksutay8010 none specialist goods are out there for after shave,I’m sure you have some locally. Stirling soap company has great soap and after shaves too and they are a more reasonable price.
@@stephenmkeer These brushes are not cheap. I’ve just ordered a Simpson T3 synthetic. How do you find the Fatip Gentile? Did you use a Fatip OC? I’ve a Fatip slant on the way and a Muhle R94 Rocco.
Shave for what’s comfortable for you,I shave about twice a week. I find that I can shave more often in the warmer months for some reason. Thanks for your question.👍♥️
I’m very well ,we’ve been through some issues, but came out the other side and better for it. Thanks for reaching out my friend. I hope all is well with you and yours.👍
No knicks on the beast side! I have the beast head but its slant variation from yaqi. Its called top aggressive if you wanna look it up. Combined with a top notch blade like voskhod gives very smooth and close shaves everytime. Cheers!
I own the Semogue SOC 2 band badger on Cherry Wood, just as you. If I had it to do again, I might have sprung for the slightly more expensive TAJ handle (faux ivory). I am considering their SOC boar brush offering currently. I think I will defer to the TAJ or Butterscotch handle on this one. Resin makes more sense in terms of resistance to moisture. We will see how it compares in terms of hand feel and balance/weight.
First Name Last Name I also like the two you are speaking about. But there’s no problem with the cherry or ash handles as long as you don’t leave them in a mug and the water level is over the handle. It’s going to get a little wet during the shave, but just make sure you dry it with a towel at the end of the shave and leave it out so the knot can air dry.
Hello 👋 Stephen 🤩 how or you doing 😃 today it Been While you not making videos no more What happened to you or you sick 🤒 or no last time I saw you on live Stream for Little bit bro or you Busy or not been working my friend 😁 let me know it or you okay 👌 all right I am check in to say hi 👋 to me my friend 🤗 Stay safe good night 😴 Stephen 🤔
Hello,I am well thanks for asking. You are right,I haven’t made a shave video in a long time, that’s because of many reasons, but mainly I don’t have the time with working and family life. But I hope you enjoy watching my shave videos I’ve made in the past. Thanks again and stay safe yourself.👍
Boogeyman 77 from what I can remember of the scent,it was nice, not to strong, but the performance for me wasn’t the best. I know the razorock soaps are inexpensive, but I couldn’t get the slickness, saying that I am in a hard water area. I hope this helps you.👍
Mike Rose I’m afraid not,I’m doing 12 hour shifts at my current job and when I’m not working there’s things to do around the hour,as my wife work long hours too.
I would say, that as both are natural hair brushes, they would need the same breaking in period (what ever your preferred procedure is). The horse hair brush is a smaller knot,so will not hold as much lather as the bigger boar knot. I have,as many others of the Stirling boar brush not holding lather,it doesn’t matter how long you try to break it in. The handle of the Stirling feels better in the hand, while the horse hair handle is a little too small, even for my medium sized hands. I hope my answer covers any questions you have about these two brushes and thanks for your question. All the best,Steve.👍
@@stephenmkeer great thanks Steve for giving the time to answer my question. I really appreciate it, I have subscribed to your channel not only because I like it but for ur sense of humour. Have a great evening
My uncle told me to shave every day for 6 months, because my mustache is a bit of dirt on my lip right now, I actually like the idea, just gonna miss the bit of dirt on my lip now.
Excellent shave and great review 👍🏻 I love wet shaving! Sure beats disposable blades by miles. More Men should appreciate the art and quality of wet shaving. I think the Ladies appreciate it much 👍🏻
YAQI Beast is a combination of the YAQI SRH-12 Mellon head which comes standard on many YAQI razors and the SRH-04 Scalloped Closed comb head which also comes standard on many YAQI razors. So if you have one of the two all you need to do is buy the other and you can make the YAQI BEAST head. www.yaqishaving.com.au you can buy all these.
Thanks for subscribing and I hope you are enjoying my videos. I have stemmed the need for buying endless amounts of shave gear for foreseeable future. I’m just enjoying what I have at the moment, but thanks anyway. Cheers.
Hey pal we haven’t met yet but I’ve heard about you through our mutual friends in the Traditional WetShaving community like Paul, Kevy, And Michael. I’ve been Traditional WetShaving for 11 months now, close to a year and it’s crazy the to see all nice vintage Gillette razors , artisan soap all all that Jazz compared to when I was starting out!! 💈😁✌️💈 anyway just wanted to introduce myself and lyk I’ve *SUBSCRIBED* to your channel 😎👍
Hello Mike, thanks for finding my channel and subscribing, much appreciated. Good to hear you have found a better way of shaving. Enjoy your shaves and I hope you don’t fall too far down the rabbit hole that is wet shaving. Cheers.
