I'm a massive fan of open world games, whether they are on Earth or in Space, or even somewhere more exotic. Space games, and sci-fi are a specialty for me. Flight sims also make up a large chunk of my content, with a special focus on Microsoft Flight Simulator.

It's a nice looking ship, not enough to get me playing the game again. I would like to see Frontier start listening to the community, this is only but a small bit of requests that have been made thus far.
One of the best things in Elite has to be the flight model; every ship behaves differently and appropriately to their role. Sadly much of this is wasted by the fact that there really isn't anything to pilot the ships AROUND that would make the ships' flight characteristics more meaningful. Most combat is done in empty space (with the exception of fighting in asteroid rings, which are all identical) so the vast majority of the actual piloting you'll be doing is landing. This game would really benefit from gameplay & combat in large debris fields of broken, titanic ships or complex space stations (Arena, anyone remember this?) or in between the spires of either massive cities or gigantic geological formations on planets. One can only dream.
SWG's pre-NGE Jedi made sense. It was hard to become a Jedi. You needed another player to train you. If you died during your leveling you lost the EXP toward that level. After you became a Jedi, if you died 3 times you lost your lightsaber. You were no longer a Jedi. Jedi were POWERFUL. If you had a Jedi on your team in a PVP match you were probably going to win. If you were a Jedi and got caught as one by an Imperial it was open season on your head.
I had completely forgotten that I even played E&B for over a year until I watched this video. What I do remember now though is E&B being transitioned to EA and then subsequently shut down is why I have never played another EA game since.
Not a native speaker but the pronunciation is so fucking hard to understand. It's so chopped up, without subtitles I couldn't understand that much and I listen almost 24/7 to english
I'm soo sad about KSP2. I never even heard of the 1st game but it look to be so good and had so much promise. Obviously the company that took control really messed it up. Stupid that they wouldn't allow the devs seek advice from the original devs
Of course a key focus is on visual representation, not on the fact that of the 11 powers, not a single one does any expanding or contesting at all week after week after week
all frontier has to do is create a room or 2 into the ships get up manually and walk to the door and it teleports you to a room. make some gameplay loops to repair the ship or organize cargo. Elite is still much better than star citizen.
Im waiting for motherships so I can stack 4k tones of material on it and then travel back to station and sell that crap. Fleet carriers are kinda useless if you want to fly with them and have fun.
I loved both Star Wars: Galaxies AND Earth & Beyond - Played both from the moment they came out. I really enjoyed Earth & Beyond and was REALLY sad when they killed it :(
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha... Yeah, completely original. Just like the Star Citizen Vulture... Hahahahahahahahaha... Absolutely looks nothing like the ORE Venture from EVE Online.
Star citizen: “behold the nomad” Elite dangerous: “dafuk, that’s obviously an asp explorer” Star citizen: “nuh uhh” Elite dangerous: “okay we playing like that” * clanging and banging * “boom the type 8” Star citizen: “mothafu- that’s just a damn vulture” Elite dangerous: “on steroids…tiny vulture havin ass”
You forgot to mention Microsoft's Allegiance from 2000, a brilliant PVP space-combat-sim-meets-RTS that was far ahead of its time but failed spectacularly, earning the Gamespot Award "Best Game No One Played". I played it a lot back then and it was an amazing multiplayer PVP game, but oh boy, did it have a steep learning curve. Playing as the Commander and overseeing the RTS part, you could literally screw over your whole team on a dime and was extremely stressful.
Wow.......a new ship???????????????? Really?????? ED you spoil us!!!!! Took only 4 maybe 6 years to put a new ship in the game........ Sorry have not enough sarcasm in me, in the time that Star Citizen released released dozens of ships, ED released....... drumroll .......... 1. If ED only did put 5% of the efford that SC put into their games, I would have been still playing. Now it is a case of too little too late.
I remember trying out Earth and Beyond. I was able to play it for all of 2 days. I was limited to dial up, so the experience wasn't great, and I didn't have a second phone line at the time. I remember wanting to play more, but was frustrated with the always online nature, and my connection speed, and it taking up my phone. Sure, I had a 56k modem, but most of the time I was limited to connecting at 33.6k.
I will be mindblown if frontier actually start making a viable game out of Elite after all these years.. might actually incentivise me to come back to it!!
The solar burst. Looks to me like it's a technical method to mask something. Maybe some sort of cache flush or tile loading. At this point it doesnt seem to be anything other than a solar system querk that just whites out the screen and maybe affords a moment to effectivly load something in. If thats an inventive way of masking some loading, then bravo to be honest. It'll be interesting to see its frequincy. I'm sure it'll have a pattern.
stardock ceo is called Brad Wardell and he is a far right extremist that used to support Gamergate, i would think twice before advertising this company and accepting their sponsorship. In any case, the last ok game they made was galactic civilisations 2 in 2006...
