My Name is Sebastian and together with my Girlfriend Karla we created “My road to Germany”- the channel you should subscribe when you are thinking about to move, study, work and life in Germany. Karla is mexican citizen and moved to Germany some months ago to start her studies here. Therefore, we know exactly what it means to take this step and which problems and challenges you might face. At the same time we are also covering “the german side”, as I am german- we know “how the things work here”.
At the end, our goal is to make your way to Germany and your life here as easy as possible. Regarding your road to germany- we'll be with you all the way on this channel. From the starting point, at which we find out together, if Germany is really the right place for you, which opportunities you have here and what it requires to be able to move here until the life in germany itself!:)
I lived in Germany for 10 years. Berlin is a city full of the most miserable cold arrogant and down right rude people ive ever had the misfortune in meeting. I am now just as rude back at them . I dont even make an effort anymore. A very toxic culture
I'm English and have lived in Germany for 20+ years. As soon as my Son is old enough, Tchuss! The miserable behaviour from Germans was manageable until the pandemic happened. Now they are increasing hostile and have shocking double standards. Example: Ring a bike bell at you for being slightly on the cycle lane and give you grief for it. Then immediately ride through a red traffic light. It's a rich country and it's easy to make money here but you best have any deal with a German in writing. They will try and rip you off if they can. As there is no real small claims court (600€ max). You sometimes have to hire lawyers and sue people who don't pay even with a written contract. Tough decision if it's actually worth the hassle. Its definitely getting worse here right now.
Einbürgerung = Staatsbürgerschaft! Aber du wirst nie eine Deutsche Staatsangehörigkeit bekommen! Du hast eine dauerhafte Duldung mehr nicht! Der deutsche Pass ist nur eine Glaubhaftmachung 😂😂😂! Deine Staatsangehörigkeit kannst du nur mit einem Staatsangehörigkeits Ausweis beweisen! Und das bekommt noch nicht mal ein Türke der hier 1960 hergekommen ist, auch nicht seine Kinder! Denk mal drüber nach!
Im in munich on holiday. Im solo female and i dont like it all. The waiters are ok but the people are cold and dismissive and superior. The old people are vile to me. I am a very happy and outgoing person and never had this before. Im english and love banter as used to be a comedian. Luckily the sights are beautiful but i feel alone completely. Bad vibes.
Just returned from Frankfurt. Totally, I agree with this premise. The immigration offer had a face of a dead fish. The sandwich shop keepers face went red when I paid with my credit card. My goodness!
The wrong assumption IMHO option is that it’s good friends vs casual friends. In peach societies people also have reliable and deeper relationships with some friends. They just also have more casual friends. Through time casual friends can become close friends. But when I talk to a lot of fellow Germans they are often even proud for only having "meaningful" connections. Like it’s one thing or the other. To be open and gain new close relationships you must allow for more loose relationships. And also casual friendships can be really helpful and good.
Humans are complex structures, coconut or peach, Germans or Latinos... They don't matter and they are not gonna teach us how to approach each other. If you're interested in getting to know someone and make friends, simply let them know. If they opened up the shell for you and accepted you as a friend, embrase it. If they didn't, respect them and move on to another person. Easier said than done though! Cheers!
I thought it was just an Eastern German thing (the rudeness and the racism), but when I travelled to other areas of Germany, I had similar feelings. As an Asian, the only place where people were actually nice in return was Frankfurt am Main, from restaurant servers to airport officers, they were all so friendly and fast and did not give me that uneasy feeling and cold stare of "you are bothering me, go back to your country" at the cashier when I am the one who is getting service (not the other way around). Also felt the customer service was not professional at all and made me question why they were being rude for no reason, yes in Germany, the customers are not king but they can at least try. If it continues to be like this, I feel like no one will come to travel/invest in Germany in 20 years. Spain and Italy were the opposite of Germany, even when they were louder and spoke much faster than Germans, I felt welcomed and included somehow. Mannerism and eyes speaks louder than words, and people just know when someone is being rude to you or not easily, even when you are faking politeness.
The stare is a cultural misconseption. For germans looking away is the rude thing and germans stare at each other this makes many people who are not used to it belive that they are getting singled out. Customer service i can understand but most germans dont want to get bothered I only want to see the cashier twice once when ordering and paying and I will non verbaly give a sign for bouth of these situations. Staff in other shops i dont want to interact at all as long as i dont directly aproach them. There is even a president where an american company tried there american customer service in germany and they got flooded with complaines that the staff was rude by forcing them ontu the customer. In short most of it is cultural for germans it is for example EXTREMLY rude to not give a concreat answear (its comparable to lieing directly to your face) thats why a lot of asian countries, where maybe means no, are seen as rude.
It means a person should do effort to make a german friend... like they are superior and if we have a german friend our life will be change to the best life .. such a waste of time and irrational suggestions.. instead of changing the thinking of superior being...

Germans definitely aren’t the people I wanna live with but I have my parents live here and I wanna finish school and get out of here In my school in Bosnia we had more drinking coffees together and here nobody invited me for coffee, it’s disgusting They’re friendly and polite when you ask them questions but if you wanna relationship or something more serious with German girl, forget about that!!
I just asked a person in Germany for a address direction. He did not even respond and left the place. I felt to kick him out of my anger. stupid german people
I dont fully agree. I live here in Germany for almost 7 years. And I know alot of Germans and have contacts , but they never talk to you unless you first initiate. here in Berlin and even in the southern part, same feathers flock together
Yes--they are cold and dictatorial. God forbid you question them! The words,"I'm sorry" do not exist in their vocabulary. "When you make friends, you make them forever" is untrue. I don't know why anyone says this.

Mit dem Siegel der ewigen Schuld gebrandmarkt wandeln wir durch die Zeitgeschichte. Und dann kommt da so eine impertinente BBC-Studie daher, die unser ganzes Weltbild von uns selbst zerstört. Das gehört sich nicht. Niemals. Das du-Deutscher-bist-schlecht Gen ist bei uns in der Erbmasse verankert, spätestens seit 1945.
Ich bin Deutsche. Ich habe selbst Unfreundlichkeit erlebt. In Deutschland, in Spanien, in Frankreich, in Polen, in Holland, Italien usw. Aber: Ich verallgemeinere nicht, da ich überall vor allem freundliche Leute getroffen habe.
I do know there are nice Germans. I had one bad experience from an old lady in a restaurant. When we came in to sit in our table, I laid my jacket to my side. So, we were chatting and eating, but then a couple of old ladies came in and sat beside us. The old lady who sat beside me, just grabbed my coat and threw it at me like she was angry. You see, I know I probably should have taken it out of the way when they came in but I was so engrossed in our conversation that it did not even occur to me at that time. I know I should have taken it, but the way she just rudely grabbed it and threw at me was just horrible. Couldn't she ask nicely? Like, excuse me, is this yours? I would have gladly apologized. Being nice, being kind, smiling at others will not take anything from you! We don't have to be friends, but we can be nice to each other.
I want to shared my experience when vacation to German. I felt most of them are cold and look down people who are non white. Most of them but only one ladies who was willing to helped us for direction. After this, i learned that better to ask immigrants there (non white) who are friendly and helped us with directions. Even the officer at the airport pretends not see me when I approached them to asked for directions. It really made me felt inferior and violated. Even though I was nicely and politely asked them, I never had this kind of experience in my entire life.
Laut Angaben auf der Seite des BIM sind auch Hochschulabsolventen mit Abschluss in bestimmten Fachbereichen auch von dem Test befreit. Wissen Sie was davon? In den vorläufige Anwendungshinweise des BIM steht nichts dazu. Auf der Website des BIM aber wohl.
