This channel was made for the sole purpose of educating people on health, fitness, and social well-being. The fitness industry as a whole is growing, but it continues to be filled with scams, lies, and people who care more about profit than genuinely helping others. As a certified personal trainer I believe it is our responsibility to be the filters for the crap in the industry in order to give people the valid information they need to reach their various goals, and become self regulated in doing so. I want to HELP YOU become healthier in all aspects whether it be physically, mentally, emotionally, or socially. I want to MOTIVATE YOU to work towards your goals both inside and outside the gym. I want to SHOW YOU that the fitness life style is one worth living, and while it does take a lot of work it doesn't have to be complicated.
Im currently coached by Will on team flexx for about 6 months and have nothing but good things to say about him. First block I was injured and he programmed around me not being able to do lower body, then half way through the block got cleared and he changed the remaining block for me. I also injured my goin (non lifting related) and took some time off sumo deadlifting as it was getting in the way. I came back and realized on occasion it would still feel off in my sumo pull so he gave me an idea to change my width and toe angle and how i wedge to hopefully remove that pain and keep my tech consistent and I implemented that and deadlift strength shot up. My tech has gotten immensely better, you wouldn't be able to tell I am the same lifter if you compared my lifts before. He has helped me with macros and weight too. I can tell that he pays attention when reviewing my videos as he almost always has something to add or give some advice on to improve. Overall my total has gone up 130lbs in the 6 months while maintaining the same BW. always fast responses, meet and prep have been great, as well as responses mid session if I need help for attempts and also just overall great dude.
@@newtoss no you go based on your ACTUAL 1RM at the start of the training cycle. Then you let the percentages progress of that (even if you hit something in training to suggest your 1RM is now higher) until the end of the training cycle. That way the backdown increases over a training cycle stay consistent
Nah. They have great physiques now. No need for them to ruin their health to compete in a beauty pageant. Bodybuilding physiques aren't aesthetic anyway
@@brownmamba6538 Never said they didn't, man lol Just responding to what they discussed in the video. And knowing both of them and their education, I'm highly confident they wouldn't destroy themselves in the process.
shouts out to the spotters on bench, it is no piece of piss to rerack 175 with no support from the bencher (not your fault). Also I can't see your results on open powerlifting? They don't seem to match the weights in the video.
cheers dude. I'm also interested in an update on your 5x per week benching. I would like to bench higher volume and want to give this a try for a period (shoulders/wrists permitting). Worth it? I've seen decent gains with 2-3x a week, but want to change it up a bit.
Congratulations Marcellus! The pre-game prayer resonates with me deeply. Praise God you walked away healthy after the freak BP incident. Our bodies do weird things sometimes and I'm happy you were able to bounce back. Impressive performance and I appreciate your perspective.
Thank you so much for your love and support as always Matt! I never take it for granted, and thank God for allowing me to be connected with someone for whom I have nothing but respect! The words you gave me when I told you was gonna commit to doing this meet are something I’ll always cherish.
At this point after discussing it with my coach, and a few others whose input I trust.. seems like I somehow had some type of nerve feeling pinched/trapped
Article 14 has been broken already. After handling at PLA nats I handled at usapl collegiate nationals, and a usapl meet in Philly. I will not abandon the vast majority of my clients to follow a rule that is unethical and illegal. I will be in the front row at of the audience at worlds to coordinate calls for my clients with Matt Gary who will be directly handling them.
Interesting jumps see the 485, 584, 639 i could see myself doing in the gym non meet maybe 496 instead of 485 but why not take something around 560-570 for opener 610ish for 2nd and see whats there for 3rd
I’ve given a full breakdown on powerlifting now behind all the reasons for it, and why I specifically do it for myself. The short answer is going heavier for my 2nd only tanks me more for the third attempt range. I play how I practice
