How do you get the bolt on the front part of the grill? I was able to get the bolt for the tent on the back part, but the front part is where the knobs are, did you drill a hole thru the front as I am not able to go underneath to get to the front.
Thanks for this video, my manual shifting quit working the other day and I've been wanting to know how to replace it. I just hope I can get that boot out without breaking those tabs. How much is the OEM shifter?
I have this dryer and I had taken it apart before to replace the door switch or something and had already forgotten how to get this apart. I had to use different words to find your video again. it is a beast it dries very hot so I use the less dry mode mostly. The other interesting video on RU-vid about this dryer is that there’s a guy that’s using it as a coffee roaster & no longer a clothes dryer. Just in case somebody wants to open a coffee place on the cheap.
Nice video. My issue is, randomly the fuel pump won't run. I hit the tank from under the seat and got it to start, so I figured the pump was going bad. However, the next 6 times it happened, hitting the tank did nothing. Randomly it would work regardless of what I did. I found the fuel pump relay before finding this video.. if I just move the relay around, it will allow me to start the car 5 out of 5 times. So at this point not sure if its a wiring issue or relay is going bad. Seeing your test wire will help me a ton. Let's see if I can get the test wire to do the same, if not, replacing the relay I will do! Thanks!
Thank you! Of course I would have the dryer with difficult access to the belt. As driving myself a bit crazy trying to figure out how to get the top off.
So helpful. Thank you. I had to take the panel off the back of my front passenger seat because the carpet piece at the bottom of the seat came unhooked.
Thank you! Our 2011 shift button quick working so I had to replace the whole shifting head to fix it. You video helped me figure out how to access to all the parts. Good job!
This was a dryer in a house my daughter was renting. I no longer have access to the unit. I do know that is was the super capacity model Amana. The model number should be located on your dryer. There are appliance service parts websites that may give you help in locating the number.
After watching several videos showing "how easy" it is to pop those spring clips out, I was starting to wonder about myself, until I saw this and then it all made sense and 1/2 hr later I am buying replacement parts. Thanks!
Nice and simple video with details. When the weather turned cold, I can "hear" that the priming is intermittent on my 92 DX. Now, to attack that relay! Thanks!
Looking at a parts list on this drier, I only see the one thermostat listed right at the front on the blower housing. Is that it? With the fuse unreachable, behind the fan until you remove the drum. Awesome.
And to note.. You do not need to replace those two extra screws at the top. The clips hold it up there, and it's fastened underneath as well. Why would they hide fasteners like that when all other driers just push those clips to release?
Man, this was timely. Great video. I decided it was time to de-lint the dryer and was trying to figure out how the lid lifted up as that seemed to be the standard method when i came across this. There wasn't as much as I might have thought given the age of the dryer. Next, the dryer vent line is going to be cleaned but that will wait till the snow stops here.
On my 1993 Civic del sol SI, this is exactly the same, the same cluster of wires with the same colors. It seems this is a common point of failure of these cars. If a jump wire gets the fuel pump to kick on, you've probably narrowed down your problem to that relay. You can remove that relay and bake it at 380-390F for about 8-9 minutes on top rack in oven on some folded up tin foil (that can get the solder points to rejoin and temporarily make contact again) let it cool, reinstall. It worked for me for almost a year, until it failed again, at that point I just replaced the relay.
Thank you so much. I searched the ends of the internet trying to find a video to show this type of dryer. All other videos were like "just pop these two clips and...". It was maddening. But you saved the day!
