The biggest "con" is the increasing rents. I've lived in Midtown for almost 32 years now, I love it here, and wouldn't want to live anywhere else in Sacramento. But I now get hit with a $100/month rent increase every August. This time it was $120/month, effective October 1st. I'm hoping I can stay in this part of town, but we'll see.
If one drives to Carmel or Monterey, don't stop in Salinas. It is gang riddled. There are so many gang problems in that entire Sacto area. If you a neighborhood without gang crime, just wait, it will find you. Horrible place to live.
Thanks for this informative video dude well done very good! I considered relocating to the Sacramento area? Im currently in Vancouver, Washington and i hate it here! There's only 2 seasons rainy season which lasts from October through May! And a brief summer that only lasts 3 months. There's also way way too many overcast or cloudy days throughout the year which sucks!
Eyy Jason ! such a great channel, I am so fortunate that I found it :) :) I am planning to move to California and I am deciding which City to move, I am a Latin Man and in order to start I am going to look for job opportunities as a waiter or Server while I Study . Taking into account the cost of living , public transportation at the begining , the wages and the gastronomy scenario in Sacramento...Do you think is it a right decision to move there? I appreciate too much your answers and advice!..Thanks :)
Love Sacramento! I grew up there, however , the cost of living is crazy . I can never move back and decided not to ever move back again because it's so expensive living there. Not worth it.
I left sac last may. My top 5 reasons for leaving, no particular order. TRAFFIC, COST OF LIVING, TO HOT, HOMELESS, FIRES. As a con I can't understand how you didn't mention the cost of living. The American River parkway is not safe. Gangs another reason to get out. No seasons. Anyway I could go on.

One of the best neighborhoods in the 916!!! If you can afford it😂 Mr Jason Walter you forgot to mention the Xmas lights around the fabulous 40s as well. Best displays in Sacramento during the holiday season….. Also my grandmother use to call Corti Brothers the Karate Brothers!🤣😂🤣 she was country😊

Jason it was wild and cheap to live there😂 property wasn’t expensive at all. Once lavender heights took off, and young hipsters started moving in the changes started taking place. I worked in downtown 40+ years. 7 printing in private sector & 33 with the state. I have seen it all! In the early 80s 4th & T was for ladies of the night & drugs😮 k street mall was a disaster, Cesar Chavez park was a place at night where older men would get dates with twinks. Yes downtown was that bad!😂🤣😂
@@JasonWalter1 yes 👍 some small sections of downtown are wonderful, but since COVID a lot of offices have closed & with work from home it’s even worse. Not to mention the homeless invasion. Unless you have a garage, good luck keeping glass in your car! As adult males, me and you can move about semi safely, but yours & mine wife’s not so much. I think Roseville has a safer nightlife.

@@JasonWalter1 I love that you see a lot of young couples with their kids out & about. No cookie cutter houses out there. Will you do the fabulous 40s? Another neighborhood I love even more!
Fab 40's is beautiful. I plan to post a video about East Sacramento next week that includes that area. We love driving or walking down those streets during the holidays to see all the decorations and lights.
@@californiahomegoals we just dropped off my granddaughter friend in greenhaven! We loved the size of their lots & the styles of those homes. Take a drive out there and look at the styles of homes they have😃
I used to live in Roseville Ca for two years and we used to drive to Folsom it’s was so beautiful. My son used to go excelsior elementary and I always felt confused if it was in Roseville or granite bay . Both really beautiful areas Anyways . I really enjoy watching your channels
I’ll tell you what’s frustrating, information right now is extremely confusing. On one hand sounds like things are bad and are going to stay bad. Other hand I hear things are fine and will stay fine. It’s all perspective, but how do we find universals? What’s really going on? Does any one know or care? Seem like the goal for every should be affordable based on the circumstances. People should fill good and purchasing, not frustrated and worried. Why don’t people understand and tell the truth??? Good luck out there.
I appreciate your video but it would help also if you could please make one on safe and affordable areas to live, like the little gem areas. I can't wait to move I am transferring my work, but also going to go to Sac State full time to finish my BA.. Thank you
Roseville is developing lots of houses and new areas for neighborhoods. I feel that it is far from general places in Sacramento. Traffic has been getting worse but if you don't mind the traffic Roseville has a mall and lots of shopping districts if you're looking to do something. Really safe schools. In terms of jobs if you are blue collar there's plenty around here. In terms of white-collar jobs I see some but not as much as in Sacramento. If you don't mind the drive then it's a good place to live. My biggest issue is that the lights take too long and if you're in the northern part of Roseville it takes about 10-15 minutes to get 5 miles if the street lights are not in your favor.

For smaller children an adventure would be Sea Quest in Folsom...Its right outside of Sacramento., worth a field trip for young families..I've lived here over 40 years, just another recommendation
I agree with Marsha’s recommendation, when my family and I lived there we always enjoyed visiting the Sea Quest & walking around the Palladio Mall area and eating at BuckHorns.
