Living in Midtown Sacramento: Pros & Cons 

Hi Steve! Good to see you here. We moved to Sacramento in the early 1980's when I was young. What was downtown Sacramento like in the 70's?

Jason it was wild and cheap to live there😂 property wasn’t expensive at all. Once lavender heights took off, and young hipsters started moving in the changes started taking place. I worked in downtown 40+ years. 7 printing in private sector & 33 with the state. I have seen it all! In the early 80s 4th & T was for ladies of the night & drugs😮 k street mall was a disaster, Cesar Chavez park was a place at night where older men would get dates with twinks. Yes downtown was that bad!😂🤣😂

@@Steverz32 Wow! That is bad. It still needs improving but not as bad as what you described.

@@JasonWalter1 yes 👍 some small sections of downtown are wonderful, but since COVID a lot of offices have closed & with work from home it’s even worse. Not to mention the homeless invasion. Unless you have a garage, good luck keeping glass in your car! As adult males, me and you can move about semi safely, but yours & mine wife’s not so much. I think Roseville has a safer nightlife.

and the pols think that bringing state workers back in the office downtown will fix the mess@@Steverz32
