If you have to pull the bolt out, it can be helpful to hit it sideways a few times to loosen it. Hit it in one direction once, then in the opposite direction once, and repeat this a few times. I also had to drill one of the bolts out, and I started with a very small diameter bit angled at about a 45 degree angle and drilled to eat away at the metal. I gradually worked up to slightly larger diameter bits, never having to get all the way up to the 5/16" drill bit the Kohler mfr's official seat bolt anchor replacement video recommends. Use cobalt drill bits. Once the anchor was loosened from drilling on it, I pushed it down and it fell away.
So we accidentally ordered 3 1.5 qts of ice cream ( i know ) added 3 to the cart on Walmart cause i couldn’t decide so was gonna pick at check out and forgot, ANYWAY, only 1 of the 3 had a seal on it and thats why i am hear now.
I went to the market last week and I bought french vanilla which had a seal. The vanilla bean did NOT have a seal. When you turn the carton upside down, you can see a small tab on the ones that have a seal. On a side note, whenever you can't decide between 2 or 3 different flavours.... buy them all!!!!!
Hey Jay, your mechanical knowledge is outstanding! POST THIS: Thanks Jay ... for research, knowledge and presentation; I've got the tools...and with your intellectual input and my lovely wife's encouraging me to sit down and relieve ....🙏the job is done. I'll bet you'd feel comfortable in my shop... machine...welding...lighting...
I have bought 6 Tiffany watches in the past 16 years and one of the reason I get them is that hardly anyone else wears them. Vintage is best as the prices in the stores a bit steep. My collection includes a Mark Quartz steel, Atlas automatic Gold, Atlas Automatic sterling, Gallery Automatic steel, a white gold Quartz I think the line was called Cordio. And a Gent Coupe Automatic in steel. Currently actually looking at a the CT60 pictured in either steel or rose gold, but 2nd hand at a fraction of the price.
Tiffany has some great vintage pieces. Recently the brand has had somewhat of a revival. Things are looking up for T&CO. Great point about getting a good discount when buying pre-owned. Lots of great watches out there that go well below retail. Sounds like you have a unique and classic collection!
Good point. Nobody should lick your ice cream except the person who bought it. I want to see tamper proof on items like that. The regular top, you just never know...
6.5 hours and I was able to drill through the bolt and punch it down Didn't need to drill the whole bolt just got to the surface of the porcelain and it became loose. Yay!
Hi Jay. Very helpful video. I'm at the point now where all the plastic hinges are off and the head of the bolt is cut off. I've been drilling with cobalt drill bits for six hours now. Is there a better method for drilling out the seized up bolt and anchor out of the porcelain?
Yeah, it's a pain. I would recommend changing out the drill bits as they get worn down. It costs a couple more bucks which is a pain, but it saves time. I ended up going through several bits. Unfortunately, there is no easy way. Best of luck to you!
I've bought the past 4 times and no safety seal and their Site States their ice cream 1.5 Qts does not come with a safety seal and goes on to claim how strict their process is and how much they cared about their consumers. Of course, no details on what makes their process so great that they are able to cut corners and save a couple bucks. Just a thought though. Even if they had some magical way to keep their process while handling the product germ, toxin and foreign objects free. It leaves their card eventually and is subject to every hand and accident to the vulnerable accessibility to the possibility of some Serial Unsealed Ice Cream Terrorist. It's irresponsible and to all who have approved this must be planning some major .... Yeah. Considering the .... Fjb
I've been checking everytime I to go the the market. Not opening the top of course, but looking from below to see evidence of a seal. You can see the plastic wrinkling if there is a seal. Thus far, after checking at least a dozen different markets, no plastic seal was found. I'm running experiments now, whereby I buy ice cream, open it, then try to re-close it without leaving any evidence (make it appear it was never opened). Once I finish my research, I will present my findings to the company.
For a little over a year now I have been purchasing 1.5 quarts of Dryers Coffee Ice Cream from Walmart in home delivery service and every once in awhile I run into this so-called tamper seal conspiracy.😏 All the information I have found on-line says Dryer ice cream has strict quality control and (does not) use tamper seals just as you and everyone else has stated. It's really weird because I've been getting tamper seals for as long as I can remember. It's really never been a problem for me but ever since there were teenagers going around licking ice cream in stores and putting them back on the shelf while at the same time filming it has made me wary about the situation to say the least. Now with all that said here's the situation some of you might be able to take advantage of...⬇️ Not entirely sure if this is something I should be boasting about but I'm going to anyway... 🤷♂️ Because I get a delivery through Walmart they give me the option if I don't want or like something I can return it and they will pick it up with no extra cost. So if my ice cream does not have a tamper seal I elect to return it. I'm sure that the main reason why they let me keep the ice cream and give me my money back is because it's not sustainable for them to come pick up a couple tubs of ice cream. So every time they tell me to keep it and or discard it if I choose but I also get my money back. It may sound petty & tedious but I like my ice cream and the cost definitely adds up.😏
Thank you for this. I bought mint chocolate and triple fudge brownie. Mint has safety seal, brownie does not. 🤷♀️ Since I don’t usually buy Dreyer’s, I wasn’t sure what to do. So came online and found this thread. I agree it is a good idea to return. It is up to the store/online if they want it returned or not. Good message that we expect seals.
Going through this removal issue with a Kohler toilet right now at my mom's house. This experience and total lack of support from Kohler has made me decide to never buy from this brand, ever. It's pretty unbelievable how bad this design is - removing a toilet seat should take seconds, and instead for most people it takes days.
I really like anything Tiffany and Co. I compare it to Harry Winston and Cartier. Tiffany and Co., Carier and Harry Winston are all known for diamonds. Tiffany and Co. is an exciting brand. Tiffany and Co. jewelry and watches appreciate in value. Tiffany and Co. watches are handed down from generation to generation. Tiffany and Co. watches are also put in wills and are used as collateral towards loans. I think anyone wearing a Tiffany and Co. watch has great taste.
Tiffany as a brand has done a lot to repair their image as of late. I'll give them credit. Recently, I visited a store whilst on a work trip. Very lovely items, and very helpful sales staff. I didn't end up buying anything that time, but previously I've gotten cuff links, and other jewelry. You're 100% correct, very lovely items to pass on to future generations.
Now there is a problem which is never brought up. AD don't really sell watches to consumers. AD also do not verify the authenticity of watches. Consumers must go to the grey market. With the availability of Clones, Super Clones and Super Frankenstein Clones, that fool even Rolex themselves, who in their right mind would trust a grey dealer? Normal people will just assume that Rolex in Chrono24 and Chronext as well as those available on the street are not legitimate. Rolex is is a very precarious situation.
Yes, good point. If you ask a Rolex AD if your watch is authentic, they will refuse to verify. Rolex says, if you want to make sure your watch is authentic, then only buy from AD. Easier to say than to do, because AD won't sell to you so quickly, LOL.
I wish I lived by you so I could hire you to come help me! Never will get a toilet that doesn't have a seat that doesn't have a wingnut underneath. I am debating getting a whole new toilet now instead of trying to do this right now. This is ridiculous technology.
Some manufacturers (I'm looking at you, Seiko) give you no half links, and 2, or zero, microadjust holes. If your wrist size is wrong, like mine, you have the choice of a loose, wobbly watch, or one that is uncomfortable and leaves an impression on your arm within an hour or so.
@@jaysikes4256 A couple of half links would cost them about $2. A clasp with more microadjust holes is essentially free, since they're supplyiing the bracelet already.
@@scottparis6355 Sadly some companies take their customers for granted. You can find much better bracelets in some micro brands. Granted, the watch may not be as durable as Seiko, but at least those other companies are trying.
For the wick, I took an old Zippo wick and just unraveled it, then thread it through the metal part. It's messy, but it works. For the gasoline, I just pour lighter fluid into the hole where the wick is. I put a little at a time.
Rolex should discontinue models that don't sell and increase production on the popular models. Rolex needs to stop catering to the grey market pirates, but that will not happen because Rolex is greed driven from the highest to the lowest in the organization.
Some countries are worse than others. Many countries, the sports models go straight to gray dealers out the back door with a nice premium for the sales manager.
I wish I'd seen this video 4 years earlier when we bought this house with the one piece seat. Maybe I wouldn't be struggling today, it's a nightmare. All I wanted to do was put on a "quick, easy" bidet attachment. I was really hoping for some to tell I could save the stay, but I haven't found that video yet. Thank you, anyway
Easy to install, ru-vid.comUgkxjA-hDN2m8_mi0Dg0JD8U6QiArozIAc4I and comfortable. No idea what other people were talking about when they said it was difficult to install or uncomfortable.
I love my black Pelagos 42. However I am puzzled as to so many people telling me "oh, I think Omega SMP would've been a better choice" or "this watch is a bit too boring, I don't see what's the deal", but mainly the SMP argument dominates in the talk which is kinda sad since I know 90% of the reason is because the SMP is really blingy and attention seeking even at 1 glance and most don't give a F about co-axial and what's under the hood. While I like SMP as much as the next guy, I think there's this... kind of Pelagos cult, I mean people are like "yeah, sure. Decent watch" but most ignore them in this price category, so he's kinda sorta hidden in plain sight, flying under the radar. Which is a bit sad since it is a tremendous watch. Mine looses 1 sec resting on back and gains 1 sec with crown down (9 up) so in a way I regulate him and he is almost always dead accurate. I have 7" wrist it sits comfortably including when my wrist bloats. And just to be clear: I didn't buy this watch "because I couldn't get or want a Rolex so bad". I don't care for the Sub and if I have the opportunity I'd rather Omega. I really don't care about Rolex and their meme waiting lists.
Fair points. If Tudor wasn't a branch of Rolex, no one would call it the poor man's Rolex. It's a legit watch on its own merit. I"m not a fan of SMP, nothing wrong with it, I just don't prefer it. I like the current version of Sub, but don't want to play games with AD just to get one. To your other point, I prefer an under the radar watch when in various countries and various neighbourhoods. Only a few watch people have recognised the Pelagos out in the world, and that's fine by me.
Thanks for the anchor tip. The Kohler bendo-Tee anchors do NOT fit (too fat for 3/8”) hole in our 23 year old toidy. I found it easier to cut the old screw heads off with my diamond cutter blade from Bulldog Tools (nifty stuff) in 5 seconds each. Any cut off thin abrasive cut off Disc should work but I had a scape piece of aluminum to protect the porcelain. I wrapped the Aluminun wit blue painters tape for a no scrape protection. Thank you for posting video.
Truly beautiful. I just sent my vintage LeCoultre galaxy off to switzerland for some calibration, full authentication to ensure in its lifetime some repair hasnt replaced an unauthentic part, and registration. I'm so happy I went to the boutique instead of some repair man, 8-10 months i was told with 2 months just for the quote... but I can't wait to get its details and history
I have the Tiffany’s Atlas (Silver) and the Cartier Tank. I enjoy wearing them and I receive compliments on both of these watches. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Perhaps Tiffany’s move to create more affordable lines was a means to improve access to the brand for a wide range of people, thus increasing loyalty and profits. For you to refer to any of their customers as “lower class,” “ghetto,” or “less desirable” because you have categorized customers based on your subjective opinions on proper socio-economic standing is totally lame, classist, and racist. You yourself couldn’t even be bothered to do more for this pedestrian video than show an image of a bent catalog which speaks volumes about the production value of your drivel and erodes any semblance of credibility you think you have. Really, the title for this vid should be, “Why No One Cares About the Lame Opinion of Some Random Dude Named Jay Sikes,” or “Don’t Bother Watching This Trash.”
@@jaysikes4256 your appraisal of these watches is spot on. Personally I think the Tudor is a better looking watch whose performance outclasses the Rolex. Bear in mind the Rolex is substantially more expensive, a lot of money for less watch. I also refuse to be part of the silly games Rolex play, they make the brand less class more ersatz.
Hello, thanks for watching. This was just under $700 USD. Your results may vary based on country, model number, relationship with boutique, and exact services performed.
