Designer Chris Rausch who worked on Venice said that his maps were always way too big and about 30% of them had to be cut. For example with Venice, he mentioned that a parking lot area near the Venice ledge had to be taken out. Similarly, School II that he also worked on, had some sections removed.
I got Grind Session after playing the demo so much on the Jam Pack cd. Have had the game since 2000 and it still works fine. The graphics are awesome if you like the PS1 aesthetics and the soundtrack is one of the best. The hidden characters are awesome too. Good memories. Also when the special bar is full use r1 to spin alot faster which if you have enough hangtime allows you to do 900 grabs and 1080 grabs.
@@RedBerylFTW that would be so awesome. I played them on PC. I have no idea if nostalgia is making my memories of those games much fawnder but it definitely seemed fun to me back in the day
The funny part is that for me the PS1 version was the original at that time. I didn't have the PS2 back then so THPS 4 for me was simply great even on PS1. 😂
I played mostly Tony Hawk's Pro Skater but also played a lot of other extreme sports games from that time. Transworld Surf on Xbox was my favorite surfing game and one of my favorite extreme sports games period. I loved the multiple waves and more open enviroments.
I'm still early in the video, which is good so far, but I just had a thought there's not much that really unsettles me but Open water in PS2 era games does for some reason. Not real fear but definite discomfort watching that Garcia footage.
Never compromise yourself to make content to appease anyone, brother! The artist needs to make art true to themselves. Same with content. I'm here for the content cause it's good, and it's good because you didn't compromise yourself making it! Great reviews as always!
As someone who DOES spend countless hours making those in-depth, hour-plus videos with my own music...I fucking love these videos. I love that they're straightforward and digestible, and the music selection is mint. I used to be OBSESSED with extreme sports and their associated games, and these retrospectives tap into a weirdly nostalgic part of my psyche that I had almost forgotten about. They've been like comfort food for me over the last few months. Keep it going.
Yo, glad you enjoyed Transworld Surf! I thought it'd be right up your alley! Stoked to hear Amped is on it's way. Do you have any interest in the current indie led action sports scene, like Shredders, Session etc?
Hey man I don’t expect anything from you I just like you vids of the games from my childhood ….. also chrome studios made the Star Wars forced unleashed last gen versions for Wii psp and ps2 you should play it brother hood fun
14:34 Actually, I think the main reason the song list is ("unfairly") 4 songs is because Skate It DS has a smaller cartridge (storage) size compared to the Tony Hawk DS games; those games were 64MB (except for Motion at 128MB, ironic given the game's 'quality') while Skate It was 32MB. Personally, if it was 64MB, yeah, I bet 13+ songs were possible. Curse you, cartridge size limitations! (Credit to Vimm's Lair, a game ROM website, for that cart size info btw.)
Life is funny that way sometimes but you kept grinding and that is what matters you never quit and that’s inspiring. “They” might not have cared than. But you have their attention now that’s for sure hard work pays off make whatever you love just let me know where to find it and I’m there brother
Mang got ripped, has one of the most indepth knowledge's in pugilism of anyone ive ever met. Been on that recommendation for the last 3 videos videos either in your description or in video :P i see where your focused mang!
Ok wow 9:30 the APi conversation, was like even a struggle for me, took me back for a second, alot of info. Love these sections, the nuance of the API, and game development muah* so good
another facet of action sports that has seemingly died.i wonder if action sports will ever make a return[not just in game form, just like at all] or is this just it in terms of relevance for this type of sport.i wonder what's the tony hawk game you haven't talked about yet.you seem to have touched em all
As someone who also has no one pay attention to their music. I feel you and i know where you're coming from. At least you're able to capture people in a way you do find enjoyable, i am enjoying every video thats come out
Your style and persistence to keep doing what YOU want to do is what keeps me coming back, the video topics are just icing on the cake, ill be honest i wasnt aware of your content until the algorithm picked it up but ive tuned into all the videos since, even if its not something id particularly be interested in. Keep doing you bro, living for others approval isnt living at all 💪💪🤘🤙
I care bro, been watching for a few months I highly enjoy your videos. You have great audio (vocal eq) and always a good song playing the bg. your videos are well paced, You for real inspire to get off my arse and make something, either videos, games, software or music. Your turn around is insane just over a week ago and we already got a new vid out, and it's mutiple reviews so good. I'll defintily check out your games and music homie, much love. and shout out to your other video for showing me bare knuckle boxing, shit is sooooooooooooo good.
The fact that your content isn´t a deep dive with detailed breakdown of every gameplay detail and explanation of every level that would put walktrhoughs to shame while explaining details of the Story that one of the writers scribbled on a piece of toilet paper while in a Six Flags Park that you would only know of if you happened to be in line behind him is the main reason why I enjoy these Videos so much. Please don´t change the style of content unless you truly want to do it for one reason or another.
I feel like such an ass for mentioning it, but ya missed Kelly Slaters Pro Surfer!! I had such a fun time with it as a kid and id love to see what you think of it, if you have time to review it! 💞
Hey man, just keep doing you! Your content is awesome, and I sincerely hope for the best for you! Keep up the awesome work and don't listen to the haters! Lol
I'm glad you stuck with it and kept making videos. Your videos are great as they are. I've been an artist for 15 years and started doing it full time last year. It's never too late for your hard work to pay off. I'm glad your hard work paid off, too.
