Is there anything better than camping? Well yes there is! It's called Jet Ski Camping and these video's are made for you. Regardless of whether you've pitched a tent or rode a jet ski, jump on board and discover this new form of camping.
That block would hold much better without the bag. The snap hooks should be locking or doubled if overnight- redundancy is key. I do similar with a 42’ sailboat and a 17” runabout often in 20’ tides. This is the vey basics. Anchor first, back in to shore, unload, pull out with the system. Good vid though
Jet skiis are not nearly as loud as two outboards on a boat, in fact about half as loud in dB levels. A single 200hp motor is about 80-100 dB, two are 160-200 dB where as a modern 4 stroke jet ski is only about 85 dB. Modern 4 stroke jet skiis are quieter, safer, more efficient ( burn 1/5 as much fuel as a 25 foot boat ), and generally more environmentally friendly than a large boat, unless of course the driver chooses to use the ski (boat) irresponsibly.
Something really changed in last 10 years. Up to 30's i was using 3mm foiled foam mat.... And it was fine... After 30ties i got 1 cm ex military closed cell mat with exelent r value and weight aroud 900g.... It its great even now , it feels comfortable, the only point where it sucks is after unrolling it still keeps cylinder form:/. After I bought a motorcycle i got a few self inflatable sleeping matts at 2.5cm (1inch) height... They are not light but keep me from the ground pretty well. Even sleeping on these in freezing temps was ok too.... And they gave worse r value than that military matt. Last year for summer camping i bought 9mm-1cm folding closed cell foiled, perforated matt similar to thermarest z lite.... And for my understanding when you backpacking you take closed cell matt, its not heavy, never needs inflation, folding ones folds neatly. And where you need small volume you take self inflating ones. Those 3+inches i call them beds... Where i see the problem is that the material on them is kinda thin. Please someone explain the purpose of 2.5+ inches matts?
Great clip thanks for sharing. I have similar PWC as yours. Question, where did you find the back rack you are using. I am currently adding mods to my ski. thanks
What kind of fuel economy are you getting out of the Ultra lx? Looks like the ideal offshore rig, wondering how it compares to a Yamaha FXHO in the effective range on a full tank.
I have some requiring batteries that also emit a warning siren to wake me. I like these much more for their size and solar capabilities I just wish they had an audible signal/siren.
Thanks mate. Glad you’re enjoying the videos. I’ve just been busy doing other stuff. I loved making the video’s but editing on the computer took a lot of time. May come back to it at some stage.
Stove Bright is a good paint too. It's what is used on wood/combustion heaters. Plus it allows you to periodically touch up small areas as it blends so well. Great idea with the vinegar though.
I loved that drive and I went in 1987 . A friend of mine from the UK visited New Zealand then the East Coast of Australia . She did this Queensland coastal drive and stated it was nice but had nothing on New Zealand’s West Coast lol I really loved it anyway ! Thank you for the beautiful video !
There's a version of this that even omits loud alarm sounds. If you can't sleep because you keep thinking people or something will get near your tent while you sleep, I think that's the one you should get.
Do you have info on who has the ones with siren? Same company?. I have some from another but they're battery operated. Please reply with any info, thanks.
Primitive campsite. 8 of us and a RV next to us. I was sleeping on top of the picnic table in my sleeping bag and at 4am. I heard something and looked and between us and the RV were a couple of people doing something with a cooler....being drunk and tired I looked and saw everyone in our group either sleeping in their cars or feet sticking out of tents and fell back asleep and in the morning one of our cools was in between us and the RV along with another cooler.....we retrieved ours and was missing beer then a little later the RV owner walked and retrieved his cooler and if looks could kill since he assumed we took his cooler.....we told him what happened and I don't think he believed me......moral of the story is if they had wanted to they could have killed me as I slept.
Will this loop technique work if im sleeping out on the vessel but still tied to shore? Some of the beaches are rocky so i don't want the boat to get beached while im sleeping on board.
All you need is stove polish, a simple mix of carbon black and soapy wax(steric acid) let it cure for an hour or so then polish with a damp cloth. touch up every burn season. paint stinks and greys out.I use polish over rust once loose scaling is brushed away .
