Thank you for saving me from searching through "pages" of straight pin types! Worked with some multi-use pins today. Was not happy when several of the ball heads started falling off. Will look for glass and flower headed pins.
Great bags! Hello from North Carolina! I like the triangle and the ability to even dress it up with some embroidery! I think I shall make some for Christmas in Christmas fabrics (of course!) I am going to miss the Sulky thread sale since I am traveling right now. :( Thanks for the video! ❤
For anyone watching this excellent tutorial in the future, one critical detail was omitted. In this example, she determined that 1 inch extra was needed. The 3 inch difference between full bust and high bust, minus the standard 2 inches already drafted into the pattern by the manufacturer. However, the bodice has 2 sides, right and left. So, you must HALVE that difference so that the total adjustment is an extra inch. A half inch on each bodice side would make one inch total. Doing it as shown would add a total of 2 inches.
I don't have a sewing machine, and if I did I would have NO IDEA how to use it, but I want to learn how to tailor and fix my clothes. Do you have lessons on hand sewing?
I got a sewing machine recently and had no idea how to use it, but I learned and it’s so much fun. Get one and learn on RU-vid or take a class locally. I did both and it got me to a place where I can start making simpler things.
That would be cute also to cut 2 or 3 pieces of thin felt and braid the felt and hot glue it on the edge around the pie to make it look as if the crust is crimped. Love these.
In recent videos I see people putting pins longways. Along the line of stitching. So you cannot sew over them. My mum used to sew over pins, but the pins were at right angle to the edge and the moveable foot just scooped up over them whilst sewing. If she broke needles, I doubt she would keep doing it. but I do like in your video the way the pin head is on the outside for ease of removal. Not sure, but I presume my mum may have done that too. Even now it irks me when I see people pinning fabrics with pins lengthways. Eek! Nice, easy helpful video👍👍
Do l do both sides or just one? I bought three really cute summer blouses off the clearance rack. They were only $5 a piece in the end and so I couldn't resist but they are a size too big. I figured I could take them in no big deal and this video was very helpful but both sides are one?
I've been sewing for a long time, and I always wondered why this wasn't the standard method for inserting a sleeve - SO much easier and smoother, not bulky or difficult to fit~!
