Welcome to my RU-vid channel. I'm Tom and I collect video games and sell part-time on eBay alongside my fulltime job. This channel will be light hearted and easy watching.
The videos I will be posting will include new video game pick ups, showing parts of my existing collection and any future pick-ups, what I have purchased to resell, what has sold on eBay/A day in the life as well as any tips or help for beginners as I can.
Nobody has to donate or 'buy me a coffee' but any small donations will go towards the channel, whether it's purchases for the video or new equipment. I also have a beautiful son, he's a Syrian hamster so I will always spoil him too!

@@thebeardedgeek8018 thank you mate! It's a JFJ Easy Pro! Good starter cleaner, only cleans one disc at a time but it's probably the best low end/mid range one. The cheaper ones you risk damaging the discs or they break, for casual use I'd say this is the best one! 😁
@@seanwhitaker3967 what a steel! I didn't know the lore behind the Steelbook, I have a silver and red one and was a bit confused, I just looked on eBay and ones listed fo £75 🤯
@@thebeardedgeek8018 if I remember I'll add the question onto next week's video! But you can claim back up to £20 compensation with Royal Mail untracked. I've never lost a claim as long as you keep postage proof receipt and have all of the eBay details it asks for you will get a refund 😁 I rarely get people say it hasn't been received though, especially when paying on the app, they have a proof of delivery so people can't really claim anymore!

Good vid m8 enjoyed learning about you and your channel, on the bit about Facebook community for resellers and community for RU-vid I don't get involved with all that personally, I learnt a long time ago on Msn communities and groups it doen't work in the long run and just leads to flaming and ridiculous fallouts over truvial things. It is good to leave coments and get the algorythms going on views and stuff but getting involved with personally messages etc for me personally just doesn't work 😊 I watched your other one where you showed all the games in that big box that was good and you had some really interesting games in there m8 I forgot the comment on ther so will do it here haha 😊 nice one look forward to your next one
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it, and yeah! Incompletely agree, whilst I'm in the groups, I rarely speak or comment, it's just to keep up to date with trends or gain a bit of knowledge! Unless you make genuine friends, everyoe has their own interests at heart which I understand!
I rarely find them at all to be honest and when I do they're more the furby booms 2010s era, it's not a common item to find! Are there any in the video you need?
@@L-wn2e322z I have to do self assessment, well my accountant submits it all for me, but there's a lot of items I buy over a year / previous years so I have to declare each item that sold and how much I paid, via my spreadsheets so there's an awful lot of back and forth 🤣 Once it's done I am balls to the wall listing!!! And back to car boots 🫡
Some of the earlier ones you mentioned are only a few quid rather than fivers or tenners but you will easily get your money back on all that. If you have close to a full set of the score cards I will trade them for a full set (missing 3) of panini elite premier league plus a little bit of cash your way? So you end up with the same amount of cards plus some cash?

@@EdgyFunkos I'm not clued up on pops but I can only assume that that would be a good one/grail! They're fun, if you don't resell much then they're still worth going for a casual browse you never know what you might find and as you have a niche or an interest in certain things the reselling bug will kick in 😄
@@james0800 Thanks James, will do! It may take a lot of time to piece of and sell in bundle but I think there's profit there! Whether it's worth the time we will shall have to see but its all a learning curve 😁

Found your channel on my recommended yesterday and been going through all the vids, great to see a part time perspective as opposed to the big ones doing it full time as it shows the reality of how difficult it is to start and manage with a full time job. Bottom line is CEX employees are not qualified/trained/have the insight of the finer details and nuances of the gaming sphere. I've encountered numerous fake cartridges, controllers etc. all traded in and "inspected".
@@HawkerXCi yeah I can understand this, but at the same though theres only so many categories they sell so it shouldn't be too difficult to learn it but I get some mistakes will be made, it was just frustrating as it was a lot so quickly 😅

I bumped into a random guy that went a different gig last year (of the same band) and he was watching the footage back in between sets and I saw myself on his phone, so he sent me the footage! Out of what CEX stores near me I tend to check on the likes of ebay & other places 1st if I'm looking for a new Graphics card for instance and more often than not ebay works out cheaper more often than not for such components. But as for not CEX not being able to take back an item because it was bought in a different store from what I under stand is incorrect.
Ive had both good and bad experiences with cex. I hate there is no grading system for media, you could pay 50 for a dvd or game just for it to be scratched to high heaven making it less valuable or sometimes worthless. That being said if you know what you are looking for you can make a pretty penny (even with postage). I have friends that can find dvds and games that are on the low end then sell them on ebay for 2x,3x,4x cex price. I think the cex algorithm goes like this Ebay sold price + store costs÷ stock. If you sell something on ebay and then check cex ,0-48 hours and the price has rapidly increased. Also if youre after something specific try Amazon used, it has a grading system at least. Ive recently bought a dvd and it was 26p + 1.76 postage. Miles cheaper than cex
You say that but but they sell some good stuff, a lot is overpriced and you have issues but you can get some great deals at CeX compared to eBay prices.
I've used Cex stores a lot over the last few years but used it online for the first time last week. I ordered 4 items and was charged £2.95 delivery FOR EVERY ITEM.
Yes unfortunately it's standard postage now. I've sent dvds through the post and I think last time it was 2.92 per package. The only way to get cheaper postage is 'by weight' like music magpie it's 1.76 but they do weight postage and send them all at once where cex can't because it's loads of little stores instead of one big warehouse therefore can only use 'normal postage' And it'll only go up from here
