This channel was made so I can upload stuff by my favorite artists/musicians. Right now its mainly U2 and Yes, but I do plan on rarely treating my audience to artists outside the norm. Enjoy!

Thank you. They brought the show thru Nashville that year. Excellent concert. Fantastic to see Jon back, but now Steve's gone! Trevor isn't Steve Howe, but I was very impressed. 90125 is classic 80s Yes. My fav. song? Hearts. Chris slays me on City of Love. That bass!

Omg Chris's bass coming through loud and clear 😅 i remember it as first concert I'd seen and i got hooked because Chris's bass sound hit me in the chest. Lost count how many concerts there after. Chris had great voice as well. Trevor was just there as a guest in my mind. Geoff was great replacement at the time for Rick. Steve was amazing. The Clap. Starship Trooper blew me away at the time. What fun times the 80 and 90's concerts, very raw and power.

Sound is pretty decent! First saw all this on 9012Live when I was 17. I’m 54 now and still think it’s a brilliant lineup among many. Love Close to the Edge - love this 😊

We (my big brothers and friends and I) all took the ferry over from Nanaimo to this concert at the Pacific colosseum ! I was 14 and a huge Rick Walkman fan🎹 They had a stage in the middle of the arena that slowly spun around. The sound was great. Chris sQuire was smoking a cigarette when they walked through a black partitioned walkway to get onto the stage. It was really fun.

Is Trevor singing the highest parts on YIND and PC? I saw several of these shows and don’t recall the harmonies sounding this different from the Howe versions. As I recall these were some of the longest Yesshows (as you noted) before they whittled them down a bit when I saw them. Also Jon wore a halo style mic on these first shows but that was gone soon.
@mattleppard1964
@mattleppard1964 2 дня назад
It’s Chris on the high parts as usual, I think. The registers are generally Steve then Jon then Chris. The high vox on Close to the Edge verses are Chris on top of Jon. Bit ragged here in places.

Very good recording! RSOG shows that all you need is Billy to make it work live - the amount of post-production on the Keys to Ascension live version is, frankly, embarrassing. Maybe because we're closer to the guitar amp you can hear too how it's really in essence a Steve Howe piece: all the elements (apart from the improvised bits) follow the original.

I was fortunate enough to catch the Hartford, CT show at a proper theater with nice acoustics ("The Bushnell" for short) on February 25, 1977. As I've commented here on YT previously, this was a literally spectacular concert: musically, sonically & visually. Will never forget the Boeing 747 headlights facing down with the dry ice (a 'curtain' effect, ala the Seconds Out cover).... Phil in the laser cone & spotlights during the finale of Afterglow...Phil playing games with the tambourine for our approval on I Know What I Like... I couldn't believe what I was hearing when Supper's Ready began, an astounding version...as if that wasn't enough A+ Genesis, they followed that up with one that was already a modern classic: Dance On A Volcano. The power of this was amazing. Did I mention Chester Thompson on drums yet? Followed by Phil & Chester duet, then Los Endos (what better?) to end the show proper...then those encores that of course brought down the house (The Lamb & Musical Box ending) ... I may have missed the previous two tours (The Lamb & Trick, the latter with BB on drums!), but this was unforgettable.

That's correct, this wasn't close to a sellout. I got a day of show ticket first level only about five rows up with a great view of Trevor and Tony. I saw the union tour here and it was packed to the rafters. I think part of the problem was this album did not get the promotion it deserved. This wasn't the first time I've seen Jon for getting a lyric, considering the amount of lyrics he has to remember I think it would be expected. It is the only time I've ever seen the crowd to sing the lyric for him Edit: I forgot this until I saw the setlist. For the song where will you be Jon actually used a lyric sheet. I saw ELP in 1977 and lake had a teleprompter for lyrics. He still missed some lyrics up, although I think possibly there were some party favors to blame for that It should also be remembered that the band was a six piece for this tour with Billy Sherwood on second guitar and Harmony vocals

I saw this tour in Orlando florida. During changes Jon forgot one of the lyrics, the band went around again, he forgot again, they went around again, he forgot again and then the audience sang it for him, he gave the audience a wave and a little bit of a bow and the song went on so much fun Edit: really good sounding show, is this from the FM feed that they did in the arena on that tour? It's either that or somebody was standing directly in front of Chris the bass mix is incredible

It's a shame they dropped the Tormado material. My only complaint with that album was that it was poorly mastered, the sound quality was miserable. I thought the songs were good and the band was experimenting a little bit pushing their boundaries. I know a lot of other people did not agree with that.

I was there. Great show. As the story goes, U2 was contracted to play the show at a rate that was significantly lower than what they were paid for others on this tour once the War album began to take off. They adhered to the original contracted rate rather than demand an increase. For a band that takes a lot of grief for tax avoidance these days, nice to know that at least at one point, they understood a college in the US had only so much budget for these events.
