Not sure tbh. Bought it from Walmart. It's this one but in grey. www.walmart.com/ip/Sterilite-Small-3-Drawer-Desktop-Unit-Plastic-White/10877957?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=1223&gclsrc=aw.ds&adid=2222222227710877957_117755028669_12420145346&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=501107745824&wl4=pla-394283752452&wl5=9191744&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=10877957&veh=sem_LIA&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw2dG1BhB4EiwA998cqMxYpLXnfroHhUGju3JycmqztWnz7x1s0UNG92bp0c9JuVdCOQvXjRoCzPYQAvD_BwE
Yes and no. Definitely had issues early on and had to redo some welds. I bought the Harbor Freight flux welder (right now it's $99), which means I didn't need gas. I was advised by a pro to not use this type of weld for structural support. So I only welded the door frames and the roof. The welds were ugly but I grinded them down and then used a black sealant to "cover" the ugliness.
@@venaseph6314 I had that same guy come out and weld up the top part of the frame. He was a stick welder. You can supplement the weld with heavy duty bolts. I did that for the adjustable front wheel. Had to build a frame so it would clear the electrical box. Just to make sure the welds would hold long term and to increase the over strength, I added some long bolts to each side and the tops. You could do something similar to the frame, if hiring a professional isn't an option.
Those are stock seats? That’s good to see they improved. Mine came with those green hard plastic seats that makes your ass hurt just by looking at them!
The things added and how is all the optional pieces a fixed the plastic. A helping note. Turn the front rod holders upside down. You will want to cover the foam with something. Nice set up
You could use a hole saw bit that’s the same width as the cup holder and then add something like this. GloBosenPur Car-Cup-Holder-Expander for Car Organizer with Adjustable Base,Compatible with Yeti 20/26/30 oz Hydro Flasks Large 32/40oz, Fits Most Cup Holder, Diameter Bottles in 4.11"-4.44" (1pcs) a.co/d/9TTwfBM
That would be on the north end of the weight capacity. I’m sure it would float. Not sure about how well. I’m 250 and I’ve easily put 500lbs total on it.
Wish I had used 1/2 inch plywood. Went with 11/32 inch to keep the weight down. Added glue down marine carpet. I get a little flex in the plywood floorboard. Kind of a spongy feel when standing up and moving around. Most likely caused by the thin plywood or because of wrapped carpet around the side edges on the bottom (causes it to sit up a bit along the edges). Was wondering if you get any flex or spongy feel when standing up? Did you fully carpet the plywood? Top, bottom, and edges. Would appreciate your input. Really enjoyed your video. Great mods on the PBR.
I do not. Was just using it on Saturday and it had no flex at all. Of course, it's never been really soaked by rain or anything. I keep the boat covered and to my knowledge, it's never experienced a good soak.
Simple and cheap, the way to go. I, and others with the BR 10e do have problems with water intrusion between the deck and the hull, and I mean a LOT of water. If you don't, count your blessings. The only conceivable entry points should be the seam, but there is a rubber seal covering that. I sprayed Flex Seal around the seam/seal, and that did not good. The best solution is to install a screw in drain plug at the center rear of each pontoon and periodically drain the pontoons. In my experience, Pelican after sale support (I purchased mine new from Academy) rates a "D"; little or no interest in the problems I had with my BR 10e.
Agreed. About once or twice a year I will take everything off the boat, clean it, and then stand it on one end to empty out the water. If you ever have to carry this thing down to water, you'll want it as light as possible.
I looked at that and almost pulled the trigger a few times. It does get frustrating to constantly be messing with the handle to keep the boat tracking so maybe it's time to invest.
I noticed that you have the aftermarket 'Bulldog' rudder attached to your front trolling motor - that helps the Raider track a little better. I also put a kayak paddle with one blade, on an old trolling motor clamp on the REAR of the Raider, as a 'drop-down' rudder. It just swivels up for transport, and the boat tracks straight as an arrow now!
NOt 100% but it could be they added extra foam in the body of the boat. There is styrofoam inside the boat so maybe this version has more? Also, the seats are different. Beyond that I don't know a difference.
You are definitely right about these are hard to find. Plus they doubled in price since the pandemic. I recently bought the Bass proshops 10' pond prowler. For $800. a year ago they was $600 I believe. I have a 2016 Hobie outback kayak. I bought it brand new for $2,600 from a large Kayak shop. The biggest problem is I'm not able to stand up in it. That's why I decided I had to get Pond Prowler because they are very stable and I could stand and rest my lower back. Verygood video and setup.🙂🎣
Awesome boat, I just bought one two weeks ago and am working on making some modifications to it now. I'll post some videos up when I get some of them done. Great post
Like the boat I'm planning on getting one. Not going to mod it yet. I'm 6ft 4in 245 waight good vid I enjoyed it what trolling motor did you get. I'll be fish in saltwater in marches and Piers and docks no deep water maybe 6ft and less.
Thinking about getting one of these boats for my channel, also. I have a kayak that is way too heavy to lift at my age. So, this is an option for me. Great content. Thanks for sharing your experience on the mods for the Bass Raider 10E NXT. Awesome!
I attached a stroller umbrella to the back of the seat. You can fold it up & swing it around out of the way when casting, or deploy it when cruising. Also - easy to adjust for the level of the sun to stay in the shade.
Great video. I noticed you have your motor up front. I see a lot with it in the back. Do you find the motor up front with a rudder in back a better option?
I would say... trollling motor: $250 Battery: $100 Fish finder: $500 Transducer mount: $30 Anchor system: $20 Other accessories: $100 Hoping my wife doesn't see this post.
Great video! How did you fasten the accessories to the boat? Stainless screws? Also wondering if/how you sealed. Recently got one and I’m trying to figure out fastening accessories without having to take the boat apart. Thanks!
The accessories I bought from Academy came with screws. If not, I’m sure an Ace hardware sells them. I did use some clear Marine sealant on any screws/holes near the water line. I don’t personally think it’s necessary on top of the boat (unless you don’t plan to cover it).
