My whole life I have been drawn towards nature. From the Boy Scouts as a kid to adventure sports as I got older. As fitness and health is a huge part of my life I found myself combining it all. I hunt, fish and forage to be able to eat well, stay healthy and fit. The channel is all about my rather urban life in Sydney and what it takes to get my nature fix, fill the freezer and stay fit and healthy.

Been a few years since I was in the forests hunting, I'm just doing a bit of research before going back with my oldest son. Glad that I came across this video and it's such an intoxicating experience watching your trip! I almost forgot how good it is camping and hunting out there. Sadly Newnes which was convenience for me is still close because of the 2019 fire, I might check out Vulcan. Might come across your paths and don't be a stranger. Good luck out there!

@australiancamping
@australiancamping Год назад
Considering the thumper rainbow you caught in your video it’s just a matter of time. Browns are very similar to rainbows. It’s more about what creek you fish. Where are you fishing normally? In the blue mountains or elsewhere?
@cast2catchfishing137
@cast2catchfishing137 Год назад
@In Australia we call it camping no I fish in orange area I do fish around turon River and places like that around Bathurst and Lithgow and Rockley area but have never hooked onto a brown dad has said to try fish the duckmaloi River that goes through Oberon area but we don't know where exactly to go to get into a brown
@australiancamping
@australiancamping Год назад
@@cast2catchfishing137 DuckMaloi have browns for sure. It’s a hard river to fish though. Another one to try is Thomson creek dam. No bait fishing but a tassie devil will work or fly fishing. The lake isn’t an easy catch either but some big trout are around. You will get a brown for sure. It’s just a matter of time. 👍🏻

Hey buddy that doesn’t make sense, you heard a rumour about a place but don’t know where? What does that even mean
@oijosh6286
@oijosh6286 9 месяцев назад
@@Dave-ww5tlthat means that he (like myself) has heard somewhere along the line that NSW has stocked brook trout in a few places, but doesn't know exactly where. For myself, all I know is that there are apparently some streams in the New England region, & some in the Snowy region, that have brook trout. The DPI website on fish stocking (or Gaden hatchery, where they breed them) might have more info (the DPI site has a map of fish stocking locations but there's hundreds to search through!). According to the website "blue mountains fishing" they were at one point stocked in Oberon too (but I doubt there'd be any still there☹️). I'd also be keen to catch a tiger trout (brown/brook hybrid) which they've stocked around Lithgow (Thompson's, Wallace, Lyell).

I still don't know. It's a workhorse of a bow. I have shot this bow several times a week for years. I guess fatigue over the time could be a reason or maybe some water got in and damaged things as it froze the night before. The bow broke at close to full draw but I never took a shot. I didn't dropped this string or stepped on it. Saying that the bow have lived a pretty hard life as I am a backcountry hunter first and foremost. Serious bad luck either way.
