On the road to Snake island Part 1 - "The Hunt" 

Tell me about it 😢 I am still disappointed that I missed out on what could have been. Saying that I still had a good time in the end. Just no hoggie action.

How did you go? The place looked amazing and I wish things didn’t end the way they did. Still gutted.

Yeah I hunted hard for 4 days. Managed a ripper stag. Hard work getting in and out with everything. You did the hard work and still got the experience which is awesome

Thank you. Yes it took me 8 years to win the ballot this time. Hopefully I don’t need to wait another 8 for another chance. Starting to film/edit gives me even more admiration for all the people behind the camera and the editing teams for making everything look so polished and professional. It’s harder than I thought to hunt/fish and film at the same time. Editing is another story altogether.

I couldn’t believe it. First time in my life something like this happened… what shit timing. Once in a lifetime opportunity down the drain. Only consolation is that I had a good couple of week after this mishap. Hard pill to swallow. 😢

I still don't know. It's a workhorse of a bow. I have shot this bow several times a week for years. I guess fatigue over the time could be a reason or maybe some water got in and damaged things as it froze the night before. The bow broke at close to full draw but I never took a shot. I didn't dropped this string or stepped on it. Saying that the bow have lived a pretty hard life as I am a backcountry hunter first and foremost. Serious bad luck either way.

This was one thing that we was warned about but I think due to how cold it was I had no issues. Saying that I had bug spray with me just in case as some people got bit on the education weekend.

Tell me about it. I was in the draw for 7 years before drawing. Gutted is an understatement. Good luck on the draw, I will be in this year too. If you do draw get in touch and I can give you a few pointers in getting settled over there. Good luck to the Tahr also. It's on the "to do" list.
