Hi, I’m Ashley. Welcome to my channel! I am originally from TX where I met my husband, Jake. He is currently serving in the Army and we are stationed in Oklahoma. I make videos all about our life and things that I am passionate about. I hope I can be the best resource possible for Army Life or just entertainment. Please stick around and subscribe for more!
I loved living in Colorado Springs so much! The mountains are so beautiful. We lived on Pikes Peak Avenue and when you backed out of our driveway you faced Pikes Peak...for purple mountains majesty was the truth! We moved to family housing after living there for a year. I also loved Manitou Springs, Cave of the Winds, Seven Falls, Royal Gorge, going to Hibbards (the old department store) downtown, and everything else there. It's so beautiful and has such a wonderful atmosphere. We also liked driving to the Air Force Academy too. The Chapel is gorgeous there! We stayed in a hotel on Nevada when we got to the Springs and in the same one before we left. I have a great friend who lives on Clairborne Road still...kind of in the outskirts there. She was in the Army and so was her husband when I met them...our neighbors. When they got out of the Army they stayed there permanently. I made good and permanent friends everywhere we were...Germany too. The military holds people together...military members and families are a special breed...one thing I love about it! I'm glad you were able to do this trip and go to the wedding! You and Jake will have a great reunion!
I can imagine why you miss Colorado Springs, it’s beautiful. I would too! I moved to Colorado Springs last December to the USAF Academy & I don’t plan on moving anywhere else UNLESS I can move back to Germany. Yes, the sun is always like that, you just probably got used to it 4 yrs ago! Higher altitude makes us closer to the sun so it’s more intense..my scalp gets burnt it’s so bad..I also love being able to wear sweat shirts now. Even in the summer it’s cool in mornings & evenings for sweatshirts, coming from FL I love this so much. This will be my 2nd year driving during what can be harsh winters so that gets me nervous too and the altitude sickness & dryness in CO is no joke but our bodies adapt to it so it’s worth it. Thanks for taking us along! 😊
Hey, why would we be offended that you like it here? You are welcome here. I think we might be more surprised than offended to be honest, because we certainly complain about our country enough. So it's nice to hear that someone appreciates some stuff here. (And yes, all milk goes in the fridge after opening.)
@@Nithrade I think it might be an American idea that people in other countries don’t want me to stay. I love hearing from Germans that it makes them happy or surprised that I love their country!
So you give Rathausplatz5/10 because it was to much crowded? Of course it is because its the most popular! ALL Tourists ....include you.... are going there! Special in the evening! So you can expect many visitors! Of course it was no place enough and people were pushing altough its a big christmas marked!
I'm happy for you! Tomorrow is my birthday and my big decision was to not sell my house and move...at least right now. It always helps to make goals and decisions on this momentous day every year...good on you girl!
Good for you. It's not easy to step out of your comfortable place in the world and do something like that. After Desert Storm I spent a lot of time traveling alone and it helped me to get comfortable with who I had become and understand that I would never be the old me ever again. Keep it up, you're going to learn things about yourself and it's going to be (mostly) awesome.
I'm with Jake...I love Groot too! The Griffith Observatory has been in so many movies. What a great trip and you shared all of iconic spots with us...YAY...I enjoyed it!
Everyone dresses nice in Germany even to just go down town. I think it's expected there. Here? Most people don't care...even on post! I always dressed nice and wore my makeup on post...especially when I was with my husband! I have to say he appreciated it!
It's funny that Jake duplicated your birthday presents from your mom. He knows you so well! Did he add the pretzels! It was fun watching Charlie going her first hike with you guys...and on her leash! That's very cool! I like your new thrift store pants too...very cool! Look forward to next time!
It was fun seeing everything today. Those coffee beans at the first place you went were so expensive! I liked Magnolia's price much better. I love Chip and Joanna Gaines...such great people. I love their magazine and her cook books too. This looks like a fun trip and I'm looking forward to the second part. What was the name of the church you mentioned?⛪♥
Where do you live that you can’t get real maple syrup? All the other stuff, is understandable and it’s heartwarming but…real maple syrup isn’t that hard to get in most industrialized places. Prices may be higher depending on how far had to travel…but I’m just curious where you are.
Congratulations to Jake...that was fast! You two are always busy doing things. That's really good. I'm happy to hear that Charlie is doing well after her surgery. She'll have a great long life with you guys. I think I'll try making the apple coffee syrup...it sounds really good. I made the blueberry one and I love it! See you next time!🐕
Purina proplan sport or victor have great ratios for a dry kibble. For my choco lab we put salmon oil or an egg on top for his coat. Magic dust also helps!
love this. i feel like berry is strange i have to try it myself but for something fall related I think carrot would be really interesting the sugars in carrot develop so nicely into recipes. also obviously sweet potato and pumpkin would bang too
The way you said “109”… quite literally heard in your voice how miserable you feel. I too am a Summer hater, I moved far away from Miami, FL last year because I just could not take the heat year-round anymore. There it is YEAR ROUND! No break from it. It’s at least good to know you’ve got winter weather coming though! Hang in there. 😢
I cannot imagine this heat for longer than a couple months. I’d prefer 80 max summers 🤣 Everyone keeps telling me I’ll miss it during winter, but I’d take winter over summer any way!
We need teachers for sure. Being a teacher in the DoDEA! Excellent idea if you go down the route working for base schools. AND working with the DoDEA, you can get back to Germany!!! Yippy … I feed my dogs Taste of the Wild dry food adding Greek plain yogurt and sometimes egg and I add hot water to soften the kibble. …
Hi Ashley! About the dog food I totally get the icky feeling about feeding your dog certain things😅 My dog does not like dry kibble either. I started making my babe her own food- ground beef, frozen mixed veggies, a spoon of pumpkin, with the smallest amount of dry kibble for filler (she’ll eat it since the ground beef mix masks it.) We did the math and it’s def more affordable than buying wet canned food all the time.
I‘m going to ask my vet about making our own food because the fresh food is insanely priced! Fingers crossed they don’t just tell us she needs to eat kibble 🙃🤞🏼
I'm a retired teacher so I wish you luck! Things have changed so much in the educational systems...every state is different. I taught in Colorado, Georgia, Florida, and Germany. Germany was the best of course! I loved my years with DODDS! The beer looks interesting. Pickle bread...yum! It sounds so good. I liked seeing the things you got at the festival but no pickles...that's funny since it was a pickle festival! Yes TJ Max and Target are very different in price. The little stool in TJ Max was cute! I enjoyed the blog and seeing you guys today.
Wow! I hope to teach back in Germany one day 🥰 The festival was a bit funny not having too many pickle items. TJMaxx is definitely different in price! I’ll have to go back and get the stool. Jake liked it too!
We just got here from Carson! And before then, we were in Hawaii so Lawton has been interesting in comparison lol we’ll make the most of it of course but it’s a tiny lil thang. 😂 I’m def going to try that coffee shop!
