Welcome to Solo Moto Adventures, this channel is a video log of adventures on motorcycles, both here in Ireland and when I get to travel abroad. Most of my riding is off-road but I do go on some road adventures also, I like to challenge my riding and improve each time I go out which can lead to some hard adventure riding. Solo riding is my favourite way to spend time on a motorcycle, both on and off-road but I do ride with friends from time to time and there will be videos here from those adventures also. I currently have a 2014 CB500X, a 2017 Harley Davidson Dyna low rider, a 2019 WR250F and a 2016 Montesa 4RT trials bike. There will be videos on each of the bikes and depending on the time of year I tend to spend more time on one or more of the bikes.
If there is something you would like me to cover let me know and I will see what I can do you can email me at

Thank you for your interest, I hope you enjoy the videos.
Im thinking of getting my first bike, and this is exactly the kind of riding im trying to do. I've rode my buddys trial bike and honda 250s, but what i want and need this looks 👌.
Hi, thank you for the comment, if you are starting out I would suggest the CRF300l, it is better suited from stock to this kind of riding, lighter and ready to go without any mods. As you progress you can modify the bike. The CB500X in the video is not stock; wheels and suspension were upgraded; it is also a heavy bike to pick up if you are on your own off-road. Best of luck and ride safe
Where is this in Ireland? I hear that it is difficult to come by such a nice terrain to ride on and it is one of the most important issue that inclines me to towards cb 500x instead of 300 rally. Do you know whether any trails exists close to Co. Kildare? Many thanks!
Hi, to find places to ride, you must start exploring, start with Google maps, and look for mountains and forests near you. This video was done on the Cork Kerry border in an area we only discovered that day. The video was the first time riding it, we saw a lane and said, Let's see what up there. The CB500X in the video is heavily modified, for off road the smaller the bike the more fun you will have amd easier it will be. Thanks for watching
Thank you! Good idea with google maps, there should be some in Co. Wicklow! I am also considering the KTM 390 adventure as it is a bit lighter than cb500x and more powerful than the 300 rally.
Fantastic video! I've owned a CB500x before but never went full RR and regret not trying to do so to see what the bike could do. How tall are you and does the bike fit well if you're closer to 6ft? Have you compared to the T700 or DR650? How do you like it compared to those?
I just bought a 2022 cb500x and my question is have you changed or put risers on yours I'm 6'2 basically want to know if I would have to change cables if I do.
I love the look of the bike. love your mods too, be doing mine to similar spec. Cant wait to put all the people who say cb500x isn't a capable bike to rest in my group of friends ,who are Riding experts 😂 not. subscribed 👍 keep up the good work, stay safe happy riding 👌
Nice video! I would like to transform my Voge Valico 500 DSX like your CB in particular I would need to know how you mounted the high front fender. Thank you!
Hi, thank you for the message. There are only so many videos you can do with a CB500X without repeating and the videos with my other bikes have very few views. I might do some in the new year on a different bike and see. Thanks for watching
Hi, my model is 2017-18 in front o have 17 , can you tell me all the modify i have to do with rally raid to get a motorbike loke yours? I would change motorbike after i see your video i think is nor more convenient, is more convenient keep mine just upgrade it, because is really super moto.
Hi, thank you for the comment here is a video on the upgrades and the description tells where I got them. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OPo5Vk4Dxjs.html Thanks for watching
Had a blast in Bardenas reales now next month want to have an adventure in the tabernas desert 🏜️ hope its not going to be a washout 😊 thanks for video
i The you for the comment, the 17 will do most stuff and I would not change it unless you ride a lot of rocks etc with extra ground clearance. The main reason I changed it is that a cast wheel will crack more easily than a spoked wheel and you can ride with a dented spoked rim. Thanks for watching
@@solomotoadventures one day i will not change motor bike i will change the fron wheel me too with a rally raid.. 2000 thousand euro better than change motorbike
Great stuff that would get you fit , used to do that years ago in the Wicklow mountains on a 350 Sherpa bultaco going across drains bogs and rocks it was great crack , to old for that now but enjoying watching this from me armchair.
Great video and good cork scenery, did a lot of forest rallying in me days down there , that’s what you call adventure riding , not like all the guys riding on smooth roads all the time and trying to make out it’s difficult, keep it up , well done great viewing.
So good to see that they actually have engine guards that attach to the frame instead of the engine, i didn't think they existed and was holding off buying any because i don't like the idea of adding vibrations to an already vibrating motorcycle.
Just use an air compressor connected to a pistol grip spray handle. It and a flat head screwdriver to pull the grip up a bit on the end towards the middle of the bar and they will pop off. May have to move the screw driver to another spot but they will come off clean even if they were glued on. Also. Unless your doing offroad and just got street, use hairspray. Will last forever and it's easy to install as well as quick dry.
Hi, thank you for the comment, I don't have an air compressor, there are plenty of different ways to do it, this is just any easy way with very few tools. Thanks for watching
I enjoyed the video. I have used the Continental TKC 80s on my 2020 CB500X, and from time to time the TKC 70 Rocks for a longer lasting tire (longer trips). I have been happy with them and they are fairly easy to spoon on and off when travelling which is convenient when changing. As a comment, at 5:47 you said their was no comparison to the TKCs, but it would have been clearer with a bit more elaboration. Questions: How were the sidewalls for spooning the tire on and off? Was it fairly easy? Which DJI drone are you using with the ‘follow me’ option? Thanks in advance. I gave a thumbs up as it was exactly what I was looking for and will check out some of your other videos. As qu
Hi, the Anakee wilds are hard to get on and off but do last well and have great grip without needing to lower the tire pressure in slippery sections. The drone is a DJI Mavic air 2 Thanks for watching
Where do you put the drone controller when you are riding to ensure no knobs are touched while it is following you? are you still using the Anakee Wild.
I’m wondering what year your CB500X is and where you sourced your accessories? I have a 2017 and I want to do some longer more remote gravel adventure tours and want to kit my bike out. Thanks for any info and I enjoyed your video!
Awesome videos, riding and beautiful landscape! I live in the mountains of North Carolina and it looks very similar to what you have there. Couple of questions: I weigh 120kg and would want to be able to comfortably ride at speeds of up to 113kph, is this the wrong bike for me? I would be looking at the 2022 or up model with inverted forks and I also don’t plan to ride anything as rough as you are here.
Hi, its is easy to ride on the road at speed and easy on the back roads. There are so many options it is worth trying a few before you buy, if it is speed then a 700 or 750 might be better. Thanks for watching
That’s a pretty hard trail. We’ve got ‘quads’ four wheel drive bikes for that here in Newfoundland But when snowmobiling , sometimes you get stuck that badly, and have to manhandle it around Your cracked boy! Careful, don’t give yourself a heart attack!
Hi, thank you of the comment, plenty of break between lifts, its my back that I watch out of as I have pulled muscles more than once and picking up the bike and riding down a mountain with your back in spasm is not to be recommended. Thanks for watching
