A series where we desert the long boring talks and how-to videos in order to bring a new level of excitement and love for games you may have never known existed. This is... Tabletop Island.
Don't waste your time watching this trash video, it's just this annoying guy loving the sound of his own voice. Didn't see any of the actual game at all...boooo
As cool as this game is, I'd honestly rather go for the original Dark Tower despite the hefty prices it goes for. That's mainly due to the app dependency this remake has, I don't really care for board games where you have to download apps in order to play them because it goes against one of my personal reasons for wanting to collect and play board games (to spend time off the internet).
@@LaZavionSoda It’s the only game I understand being as expensive as it is. It’s easy for a kid to have broken so getting one nice and not broken had to be hard since it wasn’t sold for very long :/
Down From The Attic's review of this game gave me a new appreciation towards it, I especially love the personality of the virus itself! I would like to get my hands on this game, but cool vintage games like these almost always go for expensive prices on eBay.
@@LaZavionSoda You just gotta keep your eyes peeled. I’ve seen these games go for really cheap. I’ve seen it a few times this year sell for $45-60. Hope you find a copy it’s excellent! Luke’s review was excellent!
I saw they make 2 version of the English version,in a green box and a red box, both cover are different and both board seem different also, you know which one was the first Edition?
I’m not entirely sure, but I know the popular one is the green box one from research. I imagine it’s also the first edition one since it’s the one that was translated in every language.
This is a game I've had in my collection since I was a kid. My dad bought it for us the year it came out. Even to this day, any time I pull this game out for people they have a blast. The first game is the learning session and EVERY time the first game ends I get a "Wait, run it back!". It's not a game to play ALL the time but it's novelty and the baked in timer make the game a great quickie game that you can get a few rounds of in minimal time, it doesn't overstay its welcome and continues to be a winner. I hope that IF they are able to 'remake' this game they don't over complicate it and take away the charm of it.
Glad to see this game get some recognition! I got the game as a kid in the early 90's and look forward to play it with my son when he gets older. Although the game board is exactly the same, my vampire piece is of a different design. The actual stamp is under his feet and his top hat can't be removed at all. His face looks more like the vampire face printed on your game board. :)
Not sure how this could be the "predecessor" to Voice of the Mummy when this came out in 1972 (Mummy came out in '71), but it's still a cool game. At the time, this was an example of "technology so advanced as to be indistinguishable from magic". Would have been cool if this could have been combined with something that was scarier/creepier, like Which Witch, or Green Ghost. If only 7-year-old me could have had his mind blow by what was to come....
The intro music reminds me of the music from Creepshow 2. I had this game when I was a kid. I loved it. It was loud all of the time. That’s just how it was. It buzzed loudly, and then even louder when the hand came up! I wish I still had it.
you never played this as a kid did you. your changing the rules. The original rules worked just fine. Trust me. You have four players and go for 3 coins, its chaos and so much fun. Most people reviewing this are younger and doing it alone. Back when i was a kid in the 80's, the whole family played it, all four of us and it was so much fun.The rules are fine, believe me. And i love the review.
The lava tokens don’t get seen almost ever out of the 36 times I’ve played it the past 2 years. A few of us had the same concern. So that’s the main rule change. Fun fact the rules were supposed to be very different from the original creator ;). Glad you enjoyed it though! This game is awesome! ❤️
I honestly prefer Tornado Rex but finding that game for a decent price is not going to be easy... *SERIOUSLY EBAY SELLERS THE GAME IS NOT WORTH OVER $100.00 DOLLARS!!!*
In the rules for movement of pawns there is the following exception: pawns can move on red chairs only if blocked by other pawns. Question: Can the blocked pawn only pass onto the red chairs or can it also end its move on one of the red chairs? Also point 4, again of the pawns movement rules, says that the pawns may move on top of rugs but can they also land on top of them? Thanks.
