KING BUFFALO - Rochester, NY. Psychedelic / Heavy Blues / Stoner Rock. Formed in September of 2013.
King Buffalo invade your ears with heavy driving riffs and a familiar groove. Psychedelic, blues and stoner overtones combine with thunderous bass and drums, reminiscent of heavy 70’s rock. A wall of sound, a trio of soaring sounds, and an unrelenting pace merge to form their own musical styling.
So great. Watching all of it again, it's like a perfect live studio recording, every beat, every note in place. Seen KB live like 6-7 times. One of my favorite bands ever.
I think the music was saying "I'm gonna break into your house at 2am and make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, eat it and then thrash your kitchen before I kindly leave.
was really hyped up to see this and was liking it at first but this is been done before with tool or kyuss and others, nothing new. good old recycling band i called them, why not be a cover band at this point i dont understand why many bands do this, well i kind of do but why oh why? Too much work to make something completely original, unbiased and you wouldnt get as popular this quick youd have to be marginalised for a while until people discover your genius 20 yrs later. I suppose i wanted this to be good.
First time I saw them live they were opening for Elder. I became a fan after 1 song, and they were absolutely on par with Elder. I hope they will eventually get the recognition they deserve, what an amazing band.
I'm having mixed feelings about this band, sometimes I find them too repetitive, though the mixing is absolutely stellar, sometimes I'm just soaked in the sonic mantra ... but at last, I'm glad they're just existing and releasing their stuff (props to them for selling their ENTIRE discography for a single dollar on bandcamp short after I found them) They don't bring anything new, they're just doing their thing, and I guess I'm all for it
LYRICS: It’s a hundred miles of feet on road It’s two counties over Where my darlin girl, do call home Livin ain’t easy and walkin ain’t hard Just stick them soles to the road Find ourselves a place all our own Walk on forever, this road I’ve travelled and roamed Walk on forever, make that dear child all my own Got a pocket and a knife and a sweet little wife Scars on our backs no shoes on our feet This is home This knife is my best friend It gleams it shines and it takes it’s time When your daddy comes this way We’ll bind his hands and I will take your heart for my own
