@@dzl6848 Maybe a skimmer shovel, the bucket was mounted onto the boom, and it could skim across the ground the boom would lift up rotate the boom and trip the door of the bucket to release the material. You have my curiosity of what type of machine it is. I have only been involved with these old machines for about 10 years.
I was told that you are once a man and twice a kid. We have a great time playing in the dirt and demonstrating it to the public. This location is my happy place.
This was a difficult video to record of the 22B because the Lima shovel next to it has a Detroit engine that drowns out everything around it. I planning to post more videos soon and will try to capture better sounds. These types of shows are awesome to be part of.
Very cool video, don’t see many of these, Bay City should get more attention!! They are often overlooked. Wasn’t there also a company called Poclain if I’m not mistaken?? Sorry if I misspelled the name 😂
We have another Bay City at this show that is a model 45, is at the owners' shop getting a replacement engine. You can see more about this on his RU-vid channel @scrappyindustries. I don't have any knowledge about a company called Poclain. I am somewhat new to all of these shovel companies. I have another Bay City video of a pull shovel in Easton, MD on this channel.
That Euclid dump is one Baddass tank of a truck!!!👊 And the Lorain shovel is just gorgeous!! Beautiful restoration of a classic machine 👍😎 very cool pair Would that be a 6-71 Detroit in the truck by any chance????
I got a chance to drive the Euclid truck at our last show and it's big and loud but fun to be behind the wheel. The owner of the Lorain recently painted it. There was two different operators in the Lorain during this video. I am not sure about the engine in the truck but am sure it is a Detroit. Hope that you liked this video, I plan post more as it is my first show will be at the end of the month.
Kiriburu Iron ore mining, Bihar, India used to have a fleet of 27 tons Euclid dumpers from 1963 before switching over to licence built Haulpak Wabco BEML 35 tonners.
Back in the 60's, my Dad would drive us down by Republic Steel in Cleveland, the Euclids would drive by on Independence Rd. Hauling red hot slag. Cool to see as a kid!
Back in August of 2023 I got some time behind the wheel of a Euclid R20 truck moving some broke up asphalt, that was my first time operating a truck that big, hope to get another chance to do it again. I have always like watching and operating old earthmoving machines. Thanks for your comment.
i drove past the Euc Manifacturing Plant alot on the 70's Euclid Ohio .. one guy we did some house Construction for said he worked for a company that employed Euc Trucks ,. He Said they dismantled them and Cut them Up and put the pieces down a elevator Shaft that Reached Under Lake Erie '' then would Weld & Reassemble them and Put Them too Work Moving Salt..
Thank you for your comment. These machines are best watched live, so if you can visit us at Brownsville, PA for one of our shows I think you would enjoy it better than my video.
Sorry for the delay in my reply. But there is a Titan 33-15 at the Historical Construction Equipment Association in Bowling Green, Ohio. I don't believe they will be operating this truck at that location which is a disappointment to me. You can find out more about this machine at their web site hcea.net.
When the Detroit are running you can hear them all over our show grounds. This was a fun video for me to record, the muddy day made even more fun. I was hoping to get some time behind the wheel of the rock truck to make some additional video.
Great video . I lonve watching those old machines in operation. Brings back fond memories of my dad taking me to a construction sight and watching those machines.
Glad you enjoyed it. This event was recorded in Brownsville, PA we have two shows every year. It is so much better to be at the show then to watch these videos. Our show is open to the public and the admission is only 7 dollars. We have several locations that you can watch these machines operating that have park benches and shade trees. I call this place my happy place.
We have several of these machines at our show and I got a change to drive one dump trucks this year to move some old asphalt, it was fun to drive around our haul roads.
That would make sense, but this would be the one of the methods trucks would have been loaded in the past because the shovel would normally be in the cut. Also, this demonstration would have been more realistic if the pile was a lot higher.
If you are near the Brownville, PA area we have two shows with over 100 antique construction machines operating during the show to watch. We may be able to allow him to ride on one or more of these machines if it is ok with you. I am planning to post more of these types of videos as I attend these shows. If you son likes to watch these machines on RU-vid just do a search for "National Pike Show" and there should be over 100 videos to watch.
If you do attend one of our shows just ask for me my name is Brian, and I will do my best to make the show unforgettable for your son if I can.@@gretchenchadwick8343
My grandfather had a D7 on the farm, and I thought it was the biggest thing ever. Then I found out about the classic D8, the giant long-track D9, and the legendary D10... What can I say? I love tracks.
I beat it was awesome to ride on one of his machines at a young age. I always enjoy watching dozers push dirt, the sounds the power and the dirt smell for some reason it is relaxing for me. When I'm video recording, I sometimes watch the dozers only and end up with a lot of the dozer out of the video frame. Thanks for your comment.
We definitely need more room for all the shovels that are there and showing up at the show. Now we just need more trucks to load. Wished that you could have made the no-show show but as always, the two days went by quickly.
This was a recording done after the show and I was not fully ready to record this event. Hope that this machine has a chance to get out of the shed in the future events.
Thanks for answering that question . I am at Brownsville now and I looked at the other Lorain shovel and I am not sure why I stated in my last email about the engine components being difficuit to access. But there is a yellow jackets nest in the air filter so don't get stung.@@73DiamondReo
I had never seen it run in all of the times that we went to the show and that has been about 12 years. If you want any future videos of you operating machines just let me know.
There is a lot of people that volunteer to make all of these shows such a success. We are always looking for extra volunteers to make it even better. Thanks for your comment.
That is a TC12 made by Euclid (General Motors) it has dual motors one for each side to operate the tracks of the machine. It is a very loud machine that uses Detroit engines to power it.
thank you for this beautiful video. The old dozers and crawler loaders were my old technical school: TD 15 ; AC 41 B, the Komatusu all crawlers from D 21 to D 155. Cat from 933 F to the 953 until the C series . Only i hate the GM noise: fuel consume for noise !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Tks
This must be the first time he's run it cause he's not doing so good. I wonder what gear he's got it in and why he don't have that motor screaming. Need to be in lowest gear and throttle wide open with someone pushing it with a dozer. I don't know the full condition that machine is in though and he might just be babying it on purpose.
These are older machines and sometimes the lower gearing is damaged from use, or he may be babying as you said because there are possibly no replacement parts available.
@@Caje-zf8md I would if I was there. Been running all type of grading/earthmoving equipment for 19 years. But there's no way to prove that in the comments section so believe it or not. I really don't give a shit if you do or don't. I know so that's all that matters to me.
I could add the Briggs engine sound but that would sound horrible. I hope that my videos are enjoyable to watch, but being at the show is so much better than my videos.
They really worked hard to get this machine running for the August show. We are blessed at the National Pike Show to have so many people that work together to make this show a success!
