My name is Deric. I have been a Sea-Doo Owner since February 2023. My first ever ride on a Sea-Doo was a 2020 GTI-170. I was instantly HOOKED! With NO experience and NO knowledge, I started researching to upgrade my Sea-Doo options. Then BOOM! I found the 2023 Sea-Doo GTX-230. An amazing machine! @@kleveshellhorn6436 I will be going back to Willow Beach Arizona or hit lake Mead in mid September. Would love to have you along! Find me on Instagram much easier to keep in touch. @the_oceansideguy
@@Bwatt5000 it’s the original seat. I put a new seat cover on it. Here is the video I did on installing the new seat cover. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1IMxfBuqPpo.html
@@WeekendersontheWater agreed. One person had mentioned that it would be a good idea to use some silicone to attach the washer to the deck. And what you are saying is a great idea. Even a friend of mine had suggested that they be made with some type of sticky backing so they connect to the deck.
Will do. Got a few more on the way. Sneak peek. Carbon Seal replacement and rebuild for supercharger. Thanks for chiming in! @the_oceansideguy. IG account

Tell Will I am in :Las Vegas too. I just got a 230 Explorer Pro ordered. Would love to ride with you guys. My gf and I have Catalina on the list to do ASAP!
@@TheOceansideGuy Awesome bro. Hopefully within 2 weeks man. I have one youtube video up on this channel of my old sit down. Excited for this new one! Hope to rip and make some content with you soon dude.
Deric, it looks great and it's a good idea what about putting a little silicone on those washers so you don't have to worry about losing them when you take the bolts out have them stuck right to the deck?
The runabouts of today are called couches in the freestyle/freeride community. They might as well be a boat, not a pwc. So, in layman's terms ti haven't known a big ass ski to be referred to as a amazing machine especially a seadont.
@TheOceansideGuy um no not with all the problems they have. They remind me of the apple Corp of the sea. I don't like apple either lol. My aunts gtx's have been nothing but problems my neighbors seadoo nothing but problems but his waverunner never has had a problem. With that said all these new skis are boring couches
Do you think a Sea doo Switch could make this trip to Catalina? I just got the 21’/230 hp and have only taken it out twice to break it in. Curious if it could make the trip to Catalina??🤔
SeaDoo Switch Cruise? I’ve been thinking about getting the Switch myself. To answer your question, yes. But here’s the thing about the Switch…. I’ve got more questions for you. And it’s easier if we chat on instagram. Find me @the_oceansideguy
Deric, I wish you would of shown the menu and prices of that place you ate at and the cost of fuel per gallon for your sea doo, that would give your viewers an ideal the cost at the Island. " HE DON'T EVEN HAVE A LICENSE LISA😂😂 Weird Science , great movie
Hi. Thanks for chiming in. Classic movie. Weird science. On a former video when I went to Catalina I did show the gas prices. My most recent visit to Catalina Island, two harbors the restaurant I went to I did show the menu board with prices. Just skipped it this time.
Gas at the marine gas docks on catalina are around $7-8 gal. Recommend bringing 5 extra gal so you don't have to buy gas on the island. Most watercraft can make the round trip on 1 tank coming back almost empty Leaving out of long Beach is closer at 52 miles and trip
@@bmwgeorge4385I've been numerous times to Catalina if your free to ride sunday Aug 11th we can head out there. I've been to avalon and two harbors, but more to look at and places to eat at avalon
Hi there. Thank you for watching the video. We did have a dead ski. We had to jump a ski before we left for our trip. At the beginning of the vid on the docs I had the portable battery jumper.
Hello Derek and Michelle, love the video can't wait to see the next one to Catalina do you actually need a license to drive a Sea-Doo a jet ski not here in Michigan
If you are just visiting CA to ride you don't need a license, if over 60 yrs old. In 2025 all ages will need one unless renting a watercraft. It's easy to get though for $10 fee and a short online test.
true. If you are visiting, you do not need a ID card. However, in 2024 if you are 60 years or younger, you must have one. In 2025 regardless of age, you will need an ID card.
Another awesome ride and video. Next time you hook up with Will out here in Vegas, I would love to ride with you guys. That way we can meet so I can do the next ride with you guys to Catalina Island as well. Looks like a blast!!!
I will be out there with Will again, September 15th. We will either be doing Lake Mead or heading down river on Willow Beach. Find me on Instagram so we can keep in touch. @the_oceansideguy You have to do a ride to Catalina Island definitely a bucket list item
I remember my first ride to Catalina and I had the same thing in mind a bucket list ride. You never know our paths may cross someday. North Carolina, I have family out there.
Cool video guys!! Could you please make a video about how to tow a sea doo 230 in an emergency? Like which hose to pinch off in an emergency so you don't fuck up your engine. And if you have to dismantle the rear deck for that? I haven't found a single good video about it yet, and I've really searched x forums. You would help me a lot, maybe there would be a way to make a short simple video if it's not exciting enough for a RU-vid video. Greetings from Switzerland
Funny you ask. I’ve been thinking about doing that. I have done several long range trips out across the Pacific Ocean. This is one of the safety items/videos I need to make. You have a Sea-Doo GTX 230? What year?
@@TheOceansideGuy the thing is i dont own one but its the 2023 gtx 230 model…im going on a vacation in Holland where we have a boat and have to tow a jetski, since we rent it we cant just install e towtap, so i would be very happy if you could make a video about what to do when you have to tow a jetski when you cant install a towtap. Like if its possible when just removing the seat or if you have to loosen the bolts at the deck. Thanks in advance
I have a 2020 wake pro and I am going to used the one from the 2023 explorer the reason why is they come in yellow so going to match well with my wake pro
You wouldn't happen to have a video explaining how to get that top cover off of my 2011 Seadoo GTX Limited 260 is would you I need to access the steering alignment adjustment knob and just cannot figure out how to get to it
In the this video I talk about having the "depth finder" installed. So when Im in close I know close I can get without getting into trouble. Check the link in the description on the depth finder use and a link on how to install it. What type of ski do you have?
Great video. Too bad Seadoo /BRP won't make you an ambassador for the brand. They are too busy using yamaha riders as new ambassadors. Nothing against yamaha riders.
