HARDHEADED: A practical and realistic podcast with a view/opinion of current events, culture, entertainment, life skills, etc., bundled up in humor and some friendly trash talk then finished off with a positive note to encourage our listeners. Segments on each show include: What's on Your Mind, Top 3 and A Good Word.
Republicans will destroy social security and pensions for military spending and padding their own pockets in the next ten years if they win. Honestly our country is an economic trash fire. Working conditions and the wages and the affordability of living is considered human rights violations by most other 1st world countries.
One could argue that social security has already been destroyed by the republicans and the democrats. And to be honest, today’s democrats seem to be as supportive on funding wars and military spending as the republicans have in the past. They seem to be unified in that area currently.
@@hardheadedpodcast funding wars plural? I thought it was just ukraine the dems were funding Also we kinda made ukraine get rid of their nukes duribg clinton
Not Mormon but my mom is and also grew up going to church. Mormons don’t cut off family members or friends, they just label you as inactive in the church. I have tattoos, drink, smoke weed, etc. None of this is a secret from my mom and we still have a great relationship. So does every Mormon I’ve met with an “inactive” family member. Again I’m not Mormon, but just saying adding them to this list is inaccurate.
@@hardheadedpodcast it must be a really old belief that is no longer practiced. I know many LDS families and they don’t shun their family members for not believing in the church.
My cousins never did that. They're Jehova's witnesses and the rest of the family is atheist and catholic. Is it just in the US that they're like that? Cause they're not like that in France.
Absolutely no you are completely wrong. I am part of church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints a.k.a. Mormon. And I have never ever been told in this year and a half that I’ve been in this church to let go of anyone that doesn’t practice my faith. It’s actually the opposite they encourage you to embrace everybody, regardless of their faith or faith. You should really check your fax before you speak on something you really do not know.
From what I understand, Mormon’s are not cut off if they are lazy. But if they choose a religion that opposes the Book of Mormon or declare Joseph Smith as a deceiver, they are to be shunned. According to M. Russell Ballard, whomever that is. And maybe “shunned” doesn’t mean cut off from the family, we’ve never been around a shunning.
@@hardheadedpodcast you keep on repeating your responses. To each on and you’re entitled to your own way of thinking I’m not here to judge you or to be mean to you. I just think you weren’t correct what you said. And if I’m wrong, then I’m sorry, but I don’t feel that I am, have a great day. God bless.
They are just about all the same comment so they warrant the same response. What may have been misrepresented in the short was that Mormon’s cut you off if you “leave”. What it appears is taught based on a tiny bit of research is that that person should be “shunned” if they claim Smith is false or the BOM is not true. Whether or not that is in practice for most members of the church, I don’t know. But the comment in the clip isn’t far off from church ‘doctrine’ if that Russell Ballard guy has any authority in the LDS church. I do appreciate the engagement because it will have me dig deeper.

I was born and raised a JW. My mother died at age 27 because she bleed to death, after giving birth to me. They did not believe in blood transfusions. I was 47 when my parents finally told me that. I left at age 21, I was ghosted by EVERY one except my dad.
@@hardheadedpodcast That’s still inaccurate. I’ve never seen someone be completely shunned from the local Mormon community that hasn’t gone out of their way to embarrass the family name, like commit an atrocious crime or things that would get anyone ostracized from any community. If you’re talking about someone being ex communicated, that’s typically reserved for higher ranking members that end up pulling a complete reversal publicly, and you’d expect any religion to do the same by distancing themselves from that person. Any general member can choose to leave and say what they want and there’s usually nothing even said to the person unless they openly confront others and a dialogue takes place. My brother removed himself from the church records and no one has said anything to him about it and treats him like anyone else. You aren’t allowed to get on the pulpit and preach anti Mormon rhetoric, but no one shuns you for believing that Joseph Smith was a deceiver.
That’s bc it’s not a thing UNLESS they’re engaged in gross sin, that you would be affected by. But you wouldn’t let your kids be around those people no matter who you are. Even these misinformed people won’t advocate inviting drug addicted strangers that don’t share your morals off the street to sleep in your house. You have to protect yourself Especially from people who want to injure you spiritually.

Amen ❤ I was baptized a year ago in April and I have never heard or been told to excommunicate anybody who doesn’t practice the religion. I can’t tell you how happy I am to be in the community that I am.
@@hardheadedpodcastlol sounds like you understand the situation wrong. Do a little more research. There’s plenty of info out there to correct your “understanding”.
50 percent wrong about Mormons. I am ex-Mormon, I was not shunned by my Mormon family, but I have ex-Mormon friends who this happened to, and one of my sisters did it to one of her kids, for a while, because she was worried that he might lead his siblings away from the church.
I don’t know who these people are or how this video popped up on my feed, but i felt an obligation to comment on how wrong this guy was about “Mormons.” I too am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the guy in the clip is 100% wrong. I was relieved to see the comment to which I’m replying had already been posted.

@@hardheadedpodcastI appreciate your response. I would be very interested to see what the source material is that led you to this interpretation of our faith. Perhaps if I knew its origin I could help provide some clarity. I’ve been an active member of the LDS church for almost 30 years. I have served in various leadership roles, gospel doctrine teaching assignments, and I have served a 2-year mission as a duly ordained minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ and I have never been instructed to shun anyone.
@hauntedmansion, I have not yet served a mission as I am only 15 years old but you are completely right, nowhere in the Book of Mormon, bible, ir anywhere does it say to shun anyone, no apostle has ever said that either
The only people who use the term "minor attracted persons" are the academics in the field of study. That's it. Nobody is asking anybody else to use that term. Capitol punishment is immoral.
Appreciate the vulnerability, Troy! Powerful conversation and a needed focus. This one had everything... conviction, Uncle Rico shoutout, and firearms! Thankful for you guys and your podcast.
