I’ve had the hxfx for 1.5 years. I spent 90 minutes today trying to get decent sounds out of it. What a waste of time. The reverbs and modulation are so mediocre. And the price has dropped. The delays and reverbs in quad cortex blow this away. I’ve tried to set it up for several rigs and always given it up. Buy something else.
I'm having a tough time, as my only guitar is a strat with 3 single coil pickups. I was hoping of recreating the sound of this genre but I probably need a 7 string guitar with humbucker type pickups ;-;
In theory, string to string isolation at the bridge will make everything tighter and refined, and I know we shouldn’t have to, but it would take me an hour or so to roll the edges , polish the fret ends, it would be perfect when I was done., that 11 ? Piece neck looks weird, but it will never warp or twist, and I’d bet that neck will probably never need a truss rod adjustment.. I like the blue flames on the horns, not crazy about the burl., I would definitely score one at the right price though!
Are you plugged in the Amp in the captor for attenuation? Or only for ir so it could work witha CAB M and without captor for the load and attenuation although it has the knob where you can chose the wattage
I love my edge zero. Maybe take your original trem block to a machine shop and have them machine a trem block out of carbide. Carbide is very dense. It might be something you want to look into?
the thing about ctl 3 not being able to use for something else unless you lose the tuner (@7.15) isn't quite correct - I like to set the expression pedal to heel fully down brings up the tuner....leaving all 3 ctl switches available to set to whatever you like. Always ways around! The Line 6 Helix (which I also have) I must concede though is a far more easier user friendly user interface.
this was great and really helpful! especially as i saw a john browne video where he said the kick should follow the guitar and the snare provides the groove. that helped things make a lot more sense to me. crackin tones too
Being a guitarist I tend to buy tools that save my hands ! There is little point in any tools or machines that don't save your hands . Sharp chisels will save your hands ! Sharp scrapers the same. Time and money are always a consideration but do look after your hands. 4 hours a day of wood work or playing guitar is the maximum you should do. I try to do 2 hours then have a break and do an hour or 2 . Hands money time save all three !
Surely the answer is simple, swap it to an Edge and sell the Edge zero. Also, if your so analytical in your playing, maybe go to a store and play the guitar before hand to see if it works, how you want.
As someone who has recently bought a cheaper Fugigen guitar (same factory Ibanez uses) no, the craftsmanship and QC is NOT. Prestige level. I had to send the first one back for a faulty neck pickup, which means no one ever plugged the thing in in QC, and my 2nd one can’t be set up as low as the first one, I believe due to a bad nut carve that has especially the b string rattling at low action. The b string literally has to be raised above the g and d strings at the bridge to not buzz. Not the frets, those are level, I checked. So yea. Corners are cut to get lower prices with a MIJ sticker. Exactly which corners Ibanez is telling Fugigen to cut on this, I don’t know, but corners are being cut.
I think it's a distribution of mass problem. The EZ trem is short and low mass compared to the original Edge which is heavier and longer. So when you flutter the mass shifts back and forth for a longer time on the Original Edge. That's why the EZ flutter more when you have the arm pointing backwards because the arm towards the back is slightly shifting the mass towards the end away from the strings.
You want stereo line 6 has the best stereo fx, buy one Frfr power cabinet. Or a less costly amp head. I last year purchased 2 line 6 DT 50s best amps ever plus they wirk with line 6 hd 500 x and the Helix. Floor/rack.
Once you try the HX effects, you won’t want the LT the scribble strips are amazing, plus if you do studio stuff, the I/o on the helix floor/rack there is nothing like it. It’s got 4 fx loops, the lt does not. Plus huge difference in build quality, the lt is kind of plastics not the floor has been described as a tank.
Duddeeeeeee. The high gain example tone and playign was sooooooo sooo good mannn. Those are lithiums?????? Both? I didnt expect them to be so good for high gain applications
The Joyo overdelivers more than any amp I've ever played, but the weird honkey mid sound is a little annoying at lower volumes. You turn it up super loud and they get drowned out and it just sounds like a Mesa Dual Rectifier and shakes your house. Wildly fun to play.
man this guitar has really solid intonation and tuning stability considering how much you were smashing that bridge.. Ive never had a floyd that could sound that good! Nice playing sir!
To go left and right I'm scrolling left/right on my magic mouse, to zoom you press option + scroll (either up/down or left/right) to zoom in or to make the tracks bigger in size! I love the magic mouse workflow!
A Schecter Reaper FRS costs about the same with a neck and playability that is premium worthy. I have an Ibanez RGA42FM that has ultra-low action [0.8mm high E and 1.2mm low E] and its Quantum pickups were a pleasant surprise with nice string separation and clarity. It's also from Indonesia and a sub $500.00 price makes it a bargain. The RGA is my favorite body shape too. Closer to their slim "S" series in body thickness than any other RG that I know of. Just like Fender, Gibson, or any manufacturer they have some models that are just mediocre for a myriad of reasons.
At first, I thought that it sounds too much like a bass. So just buy a bass. But the more I heard it the more I heard deep moody sounds. Definitely worth having one of these guitars in your guitar collection. But I suggest the Schecter 30 inch. Tom Sisson
Never thought of writing stuff in an already mixed template, it sure helps to already hear a kind of finished project as you go. Also what I love the most is seeing how excited you get when you find that little touch that changes absolutely everything !
