Emerald city confidential is worth a play if you want to see wizard of oz media based on the books, although it's a point and click adventure and not an rpg
You have great taste in games from what videos I've seen so far. I also enjoy more niche games like Another Code, Lady Sia, Rune Factory, Katamari, Okamiden and others you've covered. I grew up with Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life, but missed out on this DS entry and it's thanks to your let's play that I decided to pick it up. It's really fun so far and it's interesting to see Forget-Me-Not Valley from a new perspective. I'm glad you influenced my decision to purchase it. Also, your outfits remind me of some styles from the past that were worn here in England. They look like they take a lot of work to put together and really suit you :)
Harvest Moon is one of those series that I've always wanted to try, but every time I would play one, I would get sidetracked, not make any money, and have a horrible farm lol. I'd always walk away thinking farm-life games just aren't for me. A Wonderful Life is the one that I've had the most interest in trying because I really love the aesthetic/art direction of the game, though hearing that it's really slow put me off. I'm really glad I found your video (and your channel), you made this game seem much more approachable. This is the first review where I wasn't overwhelmed with mechanic breakdowns, and you focused more on the atmosphere of the game, which I really appreciate. So, I'm finally going to give it a shot, I have a 12 hour flight to Tokyo this Friday, let's see if I can complete my first year or two before I land! 😆✨
I just discovered your channel. I’m surprised I played a majority of the games you feature. Seems like we have the same taste (girly games, but also mystery/detective and horror). It’s all about a good story and immersive, aesthetic visuals. Subscribed! ❤
It is very weird how disjointed the dress-up portions are from the story. They didn't even try to make it relevant, like "I need to wear something Simple to blend into the crowd!" It's more like, "I'm chasing down a murderer, but my phone is telling me it's time to dress up in an Elegant Gown!" Then it's never mentioned in-story. 😂 I love when fashion games have a story and Life Makeover's is particularly interesting, but no effort is made to integrate the game mechanics into it naturally. The main thing that makes me stay away from the game, other than its huge storage size, is how hard it is to get the high ranking clothes without spending money.
Genuinely thought this game was just a fever dream I had, tried finding it a couple years ago but couldn't find anything! Thank you for proving to my friends and loved ones that I'm not crazy, haha!
Hey!,commenting to show some support, your reviews reminds me of an older era of youtube, in a good way i mean, keep up the good work, channels like yours are like little gems.
I was looking for a review of these games because I love SoS, loved the video and the accent (as a ENFL myself I love seeing how different people do theirs) was very endearing.
I only played Onechanbara series, Earth Defense Forces, or any game where Riho Futaba appears, especially Demolition Girl for obvious reasons. I hope Riho returns in more games in the future, she's like the mascot of D3 Publisher. Great video too!
One thing I really like about the simple series games is that while most of them are very basic games and concepts, you get some like the ones in the video that really show that even with such a small budget, you can tell the developers poured a lot of passion and care for what they were working into these games despite their circumstances. Even if the games aren't conventionally good, I still feel like they win me over just from the charm of it being someone's passion project on a budget.
This is such a strange, yet entertaining hodgepodge of games holy moly. Can’t tell if the shameless giantess fetish insert is admirable or not though lol
I learned about the Simple Series from the Earth Defense Force games. I've played a couple of the Onechanbara games as well. They have such a big catalogue of varying quality for sure.
@@pixelrose8972 The ones I played were Street Boyz and Hard Knock High (ENG titles). I love middle-market games, especially nowadays with these insane 200mil games that cost 60 quid, but they left a lot to be desired haha.
