Moved to Wilmslow many years ago, used to be a really nice place. The surroundings still are but the town is a dying death. Constantly new bars opening and closing. Town centre traffic and polution is terrible now. Floodings happen far too often around the town especially the Carrs. Druggies around the park, needles being found etc. The only main positive is my house price has increased vastly since the 90s. I feel the town is being left behind with other towns having much more added investment and much cleaner such as Knutsford, Congleton and Alderley Edge. I still love it here though!
Hello Chris, this footage is beautiful. I would love to use some of this footage in a programme I am currently editing. Please can you let me know how to contact you? Kindest regards
Hi Chris, I work for the BBC and would be interested in using this footage - would you be able to email me to discuss? Thanks so much - victorianoble@tomos.tv
I grew up on that estate. I left in 1997. It was rough when I grew up, it was rough when I left, and I'm not surprised to hear it's still rough now. It had a lot of issues with hard core drugs (Heroin chiefly) and kids hanging around causing anti social behaviour, spraying graffiti, riding around on unlicenced, untaxed, and uninsured scrambler bikes, attacking pensioners, etc. There used to be a village hall where the block of flats next to the parade of shops stands now. The village hall got burned down in an arson attack. Our family was lucky to move away. A lot of people who moved in there 40 - 50 years ago are still there on the dole.
Not keen on the background music u have chosen , i think i would of rather listened to the propellers on the drone . Tho i must congratulate u on your flying skills, i've always wanted a toy like this to fly round spying on people , which toy shop did u get this RC device from ? #
This was a beautiful place in the 60's. I never saw anybody fishing there, but every Sunday model boaters would congregate and the families and passers by would all enjoy themselves. I visited last year, the first time in 56 years, the place is a disgrace and whoever it is who decided to return it to its natural state should be ashamed of themselves.
Many years ago (about in 1985) I had a penfriend in Wilmslow named Anne Baker. She had lived in Overhill Lane then moved to Carzen Mews (May be I have written the last name incorrectly). She was good friend.
hi I'm new to drones I've recently been to this Park and got some footage with my drone I was wondering if you could give me some tips how to get the best video footage I'll send you a link of my footage hope you like it thanks
it was given to the people of Wilmslow and Cheshire East council have no right to manage it. Nobody can use the lake for fishing or model boating and the site overall looks a right mess.
Thank you so much for sharing this Chris, having been born and raised in Wilmslow and now living in California, it was lovely to see where I spent much of my childhood in this beautiful park. Lovely footage.
