I'll be uploading Crochet 101 tutorials, pattern tutorials, and other crochet related videos. This is a great place to come learn a new crochet stitch or pattern. If you're interested in learning a specific crochet stitch or technique, please feel free to leave me a comment. I will do my best to make that video and share with everyone.
I hope you learn something and have fun. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to subscribe!
Thank you! With the tails, you will use a tapestry needle and weave them in between the stitches to hide them. Once you feel they’re secure you will cut the remaining tail.
@@AmandaCrochets thank you Amanda and then for round 2, round 3 etc. there are two stitches at the end so do I skip those 2 and then single crochet into the chain from the turning chain?
I made one of these to practice my age-old skills. I successfully completed it after watching your video several times.... it's very thorough, Thank You! When it was done, I put a bar of soap in it and washed my hands. I hung the bag (with the soap in it) on the faucet to dry but the 100% cotton yarn holds onto so much water that the soap just gets mushy. I think the soap will melt very quickly. I would like to give these as little gifts but seeing how mine looks hanging on the faucet (droopy and saggy and melty), I wouldn't. Would it be possible to make these out of some kind of twine? Maybe it would be more "airy" and dry better. Is it practical/possible to crochet with twine, or is there another "non-yarn" material that would allow the water to drain off the soap? e.g. natural jute, macrame cord, or cotton baker's twine?
When you cinch the drawstring it just loosely closes. When you use the soap, it slides around and wants to jump out of the bag because the drawstring doesn't keep the bag closed tightly. I tied a knot in the drawstring but I would be interested to see how you would solve this problem.
Thank you fellow Capricorn! Love this stitch… it’s so basic but I’ve never seen it before. This would make a wonderfully warm scarf, and I have the perfect Merino wool make it from.
This is a fantastic tutorial for beginners. Thank you. I'm so glad I found your channel, I look forward to seeing your other videos. Much love from New Zealand.
Thank you, I love this stitch! I just did a sampler piece and it turned out really good! Now I'll make a whole blanket out of it for my newborn grandson!
Definitely questioning my own intelligence at this point 😂I have watched you do row 1 & 2 a million times and on the last stitch before the chain at the end of row 2 I am ending on a DC not a FPDC. I did ch. 35 like you said and did a DC in each stitch starting with the 3rd chain from the hook and ended up doing 33 DCs in row 1. Not sure how I am ending on a different stitch when repeating the sequence. Send help😭
I'm sorry you're having difficulties! The waffle stitch can be a little tricky at first. For row 2, as long as your last stitch is a double crochet into the top of the chain, you should be just fine. Hopefully that helps!
This is beautiful. This yarn seems stretchy. I have sugar and cream at home. Was hoping to make some baby wash cloths as a newborn gift. Will that yarn work? Thanks for this beautiful pattern!
Thank you! I didn’t use a border for this as I was making a simple swatch for the video. However most of my patterns I use a simple single crochet border. You can always use that or a different border. I always enjoy a good shell stitch, so that could be really pretty.
Hello Amanda❤ what kind of border do you make for this beautiful crochet pattern??? I think it needs one. Your instructions are great. I always learn a lot from you. Thanks for sharing.
Hello Linda! For most of my patterns, I usually make a simple single crochet border. I feel like most of the time that’s all a project needs. However you can use whichever border you’d like 😊🧶
Thank you so much for this crystal clear tutorial! I was already about 1/4 of the way in to a suzette stitch baby blanket before I found this video. My pattern does not have a border. I really like your border and I plan to add it to my blanket. I didn't know about skinny cakes! I will look for that yarn for the next blanket!
It was nice to have Amanda completely go through the entire pattern. Show it from beginning to end and not just show you the stitch in a couple rows. I think that her showing how you went under the chain. That's what was bugging me with all the videos. I could never tell what they were doing so thank you for clearing that up. Amanda
