Fortunate to spent time with Sydney walking around his gorgeous khamsin chatting together about the vehicle. What a gem .. the car was pretty good too.
Sorry for your loss Beau, I know how you feel, my dad passed 5 weeks ago, and he has a 58 Morris minor, not a average minor, 1400 dato with 5 speed, unfortunately it will probably be sold, as much as we as a family would like to keep it, probably not possible, love your FJ ute, very nice
Awesome show. It's an awe-inspiring sight all those kenworths lined up like that. Reminds me of some of the servos in Melbourne when I was a kid with my dad in the truck. Love the truck coverage you do, Fletch. Thank you mate 👍🏼
Seems to me we built several cab over KW’s in the Quebec plant in the early 70’s. I remember there was problems because of right hand steering. I’m about sure they were shipped to Australia.
Another tremendous episode Fletch. Thank you Sydney for sharing your amazing life story, you are truly a very talented individual. I look forward to seeing the finished Maserati restoration.
I had the pleasure of meeting Syd at Auto Italia this year. He is a genuine and decent guy. His work is second to none, and everyone seemed to know him. He deserves all the recognition he gets..
What a top bloke Syd is. A guy that can turn his hand to anything. My late Dad (born 1923) was like that as well. They call them ‘the great generation’ don’t they? Great workshop and beautiful cars! I like that Bolwell, I tend to favour the Mk7 over the Nagari. But I think that might be the only roofless one I’ve seen. It’s a great looking thing.
The Maserati V8 Lived on as a six cylinder in the Citroen SM. I reckon Sid should buy his stainless bumpers from the people who make them, in Vietnam . They are great to deal with and the price including freight is a lot cheaper.
i have an antique Singer sewing machine 132k6 long arm,and too many more , and i had many friends, from singer factory in Sydney ,i know many men from the old day,s ,would love to meet him.i have many hand made italian motor vehicle,s o show him.
My word I LOVE these old diggers and their life stories...I Could sit back and listen to them for hours... Such genuine people who let nothing get in their way... Just so much from a different time. Thanks Fletch and Shannons.
