Hi!! I’m a barista, and a great hot foam drink for fall is what I call a pumpkin pie chai!! It’s a chai (hot or iced) with pumpkin spice syrup. I like to add a shot or 2 of espresso to make it “dirty” which I find tempers the sweetness nicely. Thanks for great recommendations!!
I’d say some things were just…dumb…because how can a man suddenly jump from hating her to all of a sudden doing weird stuff with her. He feels weird and like a creepy guy you’d avoid talking to in the bus or the hotel lobby. And lina… dang don’t even get me started. She was such a dummy. usually a 28-year-old woman is at least a little bit more mature than her. she acts like she understands nothing. I saw some internal conflict but it was very little and if Aaron wasn’t a little too stubborn or bad or actually helped her get through this and not just do weird stuff for the sake of it. It’s like “I don’t care about you or your conflicts any of that. But I do like your body and apparently I’m in love with you because of that, lina. So I’ll just do it anyway.” It was pretty both Aaron and lina should’ve been written well. I’m currently finished chapter-19 and entered chapter 20 and I already think I wanna stop reading this 😅
why two white non-disabled straight characters is not the 21 century anymore? Have all the straight folks been wiped out from this earth? Yeap, the gay brother thing seemed forced somehow but man i still wanna read about white straight couples falling in love. Not everything should be queer. Please let's not make a drama about only straight people being involved in the scene.
I’m just about to start House of Sky and Breath and this video was soooo helpful!! You are so pretty and have all the good vibes, just subbed to you :)
This would’ve made so much more sense although I hate the idea of anything happening to rhi the fact that ardarna is hidden for nearly the entirety of the book and we know nothing about what her situation means if violet will discover another signet is just annoying
Currently reading House of Sky and Breath but figured I should review the first book. Thank you for this video, I've no doubt it took a lot of effort to put together! ❤
Both aaron and lina have no personality. And lina is one of the dumbest characters, how many hints does a person need to give.I ve also noticed that characters appear for like a chapter and then completely disappear. 95% of the book is lina and aaron interacting with each other, theres no big events. I appreciate that it her first book but either you have writing method or plot to run the ship. This one sank. My rating would've been higher had the book been shorter.
One thing I did not like is that "Aron" does not seem to have any personality, I finished the book and never he made any mistake, any flawn nor soft spot. he wasn't funny or witty, a tasteless caracther. That was boring, he does not have to be crazy, but come on give it more... emotions.
Hi, do they revolve around greek mythology romance and tragedy? ... Or something similar? Anything you recommend that have everything I mentioned, doesn't have to be greek mythology tho, but it would be great. It must be about romance and tragedy
Does Sarah J. Maas even know how to write books ? If people read her books but can’t understand what they just read and can only understand the smut scenes that kind of doesn’t seem like she is a good author but that people are just curious to know what happens in her books/stories.
I think she is a good author. There are other good authors who have written books with a lot going on such as George R.R. Martin or Tolkien. This series definitely takes time and effort to understand it all-I had a notebook out when I read Tolkien to keep track of all the characters and what was happening. I agree with the fact that it is frustrating that it is so hard to understand. Her other books were much easier to comprehend. When you are expecting the same type of writing this is very daunting. I have almost given up on this several times. I started Sky and Breath but only got about 15 percent in. At one point I almost decided to just be done with the series because the thought of trying to pick this up and understand it was too hard. However, I know there are a few theories out there as to what might happen and that has motivated me to keep trying. 😆
I don’t understand how people are in love with this series. I am scared to read it because I have heard that it’s confusing and just filled with fillers and no explainations of what is going on. The ACOTAR series made me feel stupid and like I didn’t know how to comprehend what I was reading and like I didn’t know how to annotate the important points. I have ADHD and dyslexia so feeling like I can’t understand books scares me.
@@ashleyarden3530 Are these hollow bows a romance book ? Because after the never after series and twisted love series I don’t want to read another romance book even for the spicey/smut.
I’m surprised by the negative reactions to the joining. Threesomes are exciting and enjoyable for some people. If that’s ok with the people in them, then who are we to judge? A threesome can be just sexual or more than that and a relationship can have more than 2 people. This is a fantasy series, not real life. I appreciate the author’s exploration of different types of love, whether it’s lesbian, gay, threesomes, etc because it’s a way of being inclusive for many diverse audiences and readers. Plus, the joining was foreboded and mentioned way before it happened and the characters have unique relationships with each other and as a threesome throughout the series. So the joining shouldn’t have come as a shock, especially again, since Cas was supportive of the notion.
I will add the the flesh and fire supplemental trilogy doesn’t have a threesome and is spicier! But also less romantic. I completely agree the writing is not the best …agree way too much internal dialogue. However, the sex appeal is good and the supplemental series digs into a whole new world of gods and goddesses that is different than just the vampire storyline. So there’s that….pros and cons. Light in the Flame has been my fav book of this series because it’s a burning unrequited love that wants to be returned badly but can’t. And it leaves you wondering …could it possibly be returned somehow and what does the loveless character feel?
@@ccd626 That is very interesting! I totally get what you are saying about why people shouldn't have been surprised the joining happened. I did read Shadow in the Ember but not Light in the Flame! I am reading Fourth Wing right now and this book reminds me a lot of From Blood and Ash (book 1). Not sure if you've had a chance to check out Fourth Wing, but if you liked From Blood and Ash, I definitely recommend picking it up!
I'm a fan of the story of Hades and Persephone, it's my favorite love story of Greek mythology.🥰💀💘🌺 Interesting books that is inspired by the legend.🤔📕 I'm reading the lore Olympics books series and have you read the book "promises and pomegranates" which is also a retelling of the love story? Great review video.
I don’t have a less spicy list myself but I would recommend going with A Deal with the Elf King and then you can look up “closed door modifications” and skip any parts that have spice.
One thing I wanted to point out in this video, is than you sad than Lucy Grey has no problem leaveing the peopole she loves beahind if it meens than she can save her own skin. But Lucy Grey knows than her family can survive without her, they are all talented musician and can make a liveing out of it, if Katniass were to die or leave Prim and theri mom they would have no way to get by without her.
I love that you put actual book quotes on the screen- thank you! I like many others, read by audiobook so the quotes are crazy to be able to read back while hearing your explanations. So helpful! I’ve listened to the last 30 minutes of this book probably 6 times and realize something new each time
Omg I adore this! I also have thought this series was honestly weak off the jump, but book 4 was truly one of the worst books I’ve ever had the displeasure of reading lol!
I am not crazy for this series as most. Some of the dialogue was repetitive and cringe. By the 3rd book poppy and Casteel’s relationship had began to bore me. I found myself connecting to she and Kieran more. The joining did not bother me. However I hated the fate to black. I don’t think I will continue with the series.
