Great review! I liked this book about the same as the blood and ash series but maybe just a little less. I feel like the last part where Ash low key hates Sera gave me everything I was missing from The Bridge Kingdom! The tension ahhh I loved it. I totally guessed that Sera was the reincarnated soul but I did not guess that she would be the Primal of Life. So I really enjoyed that twist too. A lot of people complained that she was too much like Poppy but 1. She’s technically probably her grandma??? 2. I actually think she’s more like Hawke in this book just because of the betray etc. I’m excited to see where this goes I’m looking forward to bigger twists and I’m predicting that in future books we might get to see all four of our faves interacting. In the last book form the blood and ash series I remember nyktos saying his consort was asleep so maybe she’ll wake up and her and poppy will tag team??? Here’s to hoping lol.
I think you’re totally right - Sera is related to Poppy! I also got a lot of Hawke vibes from Sera in this book too. I am also excited for more twists. The twists were some of favourite things about From Blood and Ash 😀. I think a Poppy Sera tag team would be awesome!!!
I struggled with this book. She knows how to leave a great cliff hanger. Same about the couples. Sarah internal dialog gets exhausting. Also spot on that she just gives up common sense when it comes to talking to Ash about the problems they are. Also seems to be a soul mate concept. Blood and Ash series is still much better.
