I worked for an airline we had a C 402 B it was newly painted and the painter said you need to wait 3 days before using it but the management told them to use it it was slow but came back looking shiny barr metal it flew through heavy rain we laughed and had to call management and told them it was funny the only paint left was about 1 to 2 inches on the trailing edge . It's funny story

The post Vietnam generation of fighters are amazing. In Fargo North Dakota I remember the air guard doing touch and go's at the airport with F 4s. They used the whole 10k ft of runway plus a whole bunch more. When they got F 16s the touch and go practice was done all inside the airport grounds with room to spare.
