Only just subscribed and glad to have found your channel. Thank you for a brilliant vid showing how to blend paint - it's THE best I've seen and I now feel confident to give it a go!
If the velvet lining is stained or a really outdated color, you can either paint it with chalk paint (there are tons of videos on YT on how to paint fabric with chalk paint, but its super easy....or you can get adhesive backed velvet sheets (or even a roll if you have a lot or larger ones to redo) on Amazon or Temu for under $15, I just got 15 black standard paper sized sheets for $9! Just save the old one you removed (there are videos on how to do that too, lol) to use as a sizing guide! Its much easier than you think! ;) I always struggle with what to put on the outside, lol! Transfers, napkins, decoupage sheets (I make my own with legal pad sized rice paper pack of like 80 for under $10 I got on Temu...Amazon has it too, I just had a coupon for Temu so it was cheaper, but the same exact product bc its mostly the same sellers.....& I find some awesome digital artists on Etsy that sell 100+ digital print out sheets for under $5 and they always have a theme I need! I really dont like one use products! I can print out as much & as many as I want when I just get the rice paper pack, bc that is all decoupage paper is!), clay forms....there are so many options, I think I get overwhelmed, lol! So, thanks for sharing and helping me to focus and narrow it down! lol!
I was going to start my own projects and was looking into which products to use when I came across lots of videos using DB. The name came off pretentious to me as if it was targeting a certain audience and the more videos I watched, I felt I was right so I felt I shouldn't support that brand. I'm glad this video was suggested to me by RU-vid because my gut was right. I'm sorry for all the chaos you and other artists have been dealing with due to this scam company. I wish you all the best in the future.
@laughinghawk8522 your gut was spot on. My story is just one of many about this same company and their business practices. I was with them 5 years, didn't matter when $$ was on the table. So many better options available. Let me know if you are looking for any suggestions
@whisperjam33m24 yep, sure did, way before it ever existed, I submitted the color sample and mix. At one point they talked of naming it for me, it it was just another idea they appropriated from artists without credit
I realy love it!! I looked up the retiqua and it is incredible expensive. So I have a question: is it worth buying it? I mean is it a huge difference between working with this liquid wood (on wood actually) vs. using just simply beige chakpaint instead? What exactly makes the difference? Thank you!
Retique It is stainable. In this case, the raw wood in too was so damaged I had to cover it. The liquid wood allowed me to get a cohesive stained look with the body
I only came across your channel yesterday as I have been struggling terribly with blending - so I watched you until 3 this morning 🙈. I am going to try your method later on today. Thanks for giving such detailed videos. I have subscribed ❤️
Brandy, first time commenting, long time follower. I love how you've shed your skin as our market expands, you are embracing it well. Vanilla?? NO, more like Rocky Road u be with a big Vanilla swirl mixed in... I'd lost your connection even tho subscribed as there is much noise out there on RU-vid but your popping up again, glad! 🤗
I do Love the wood graining and the blending!!-gotta get me the big flat brush!!! Loved the Texan look!! I’m more into horses❤and more to Appaloosa & draft horses. Love the hat and Especially the boots!!❤🐴❤️
Great tip about defining the edges of your blending brush! It would be cool to incorporate tooled leather, cowhide, shade, etc., though I have no idea what adhesive would be most effective.
The coasters that you had the desk on, where did you buy them? Looks like they would be handy to move furniture with. 😊 also, what do you use to clean the brushes you used for the wax? Thank you for sharing ❤
