Great job it was nice to see some locations that were never seen before. Question though do happen to know the wherabouts of where the truck is that was built and used in the film. I watched another video years ago and someone found it in abandoned in a junkyard.
@wjd329
@wjd329 3 дня назад
Ha! I sure do. Believe it or not, I’m actually the person who found it, but that other dude beat me to the RU-vid video and I can prove it based on the timestamp of my photos compared to his RU-vid video. I found it one month prior to him. In any case, a heating oil company owner purchased the truck from the owners who had it when I found it. That company is called V. L. Tammaro Oil Co. The truck resides at their Baileyville Maine location. You can schedule a visit to see the truck. They just request that you call ahead and arrange it, and not just show up. If you’re interested, their phone number is 207-454-7500.

I LOVE this movie. This is one of the few times I prefer the film. Brad Dourif kills it, the bat looks great, it's dirty and gross where it needs to be, and when its clean, it's not pristine, so it looks real. I hate pristine horror flicks. It's hot, there're bugs, rats, no one has a new car, the richest guy we see has a fly inside his coffee pot...it's the realest movie about a monster bat you're gonna see.

The interiors were mostly all filmed on a production stage. They built the kitchen and some other rooms on a stage too and made them look exactly like they do in the real house. They had to build the kitchen set 4 or 5 feet off the floor so they could account for the basement stairs.
@wjd329
@wjd329 4 дня назад
@@Robert-nu4vc That is correct. I am pointing out the things that were in fact filmed inside the house, as well as just documenting the entirety of the interior because I know a lot of people have always been curious about what the interior looks like. 😊
@Robert-nu4vc
@Robert-nu4vc 4 дня назад
@wjd329 it's still great to see inside. I always wondered if it still looked the same as the movie. The kitchen really hasn't changed at all.
@wjd329
@wjd329 4 дня назад
@@Robert-nu4vc agreed! Its uncanny. There are certain shots in the film where you can see some of the little detail changes from the actual house to the set location. There’s a great shot of Jud standing in the kitchen and you can see the difference in the flooring and that’s how you know that shot is on the set. It’s something only eagle eyed fans would spot or notice, but I absolutely love that kinda stuff.

@@Jennytheaquariangoddess it is an active Boy Scouts camp so this place is very active. They do offer a variety of tour options from the very basic spots to the hardcore (every location)….they even do overnight stays. If you’re a big fan of the film it’s a must do! I worked as a paramedic insecurities on serval of Stephen King's movies including this one and the shots at the Edythe Dyer Library took place in a couple locations but one was in front and down over the hill as you go to the retirement community and the car we shook the car and literally were holding and moving branches from the front of the car to the back to simulate the car moving while The Hitchhiker was on top. I've been watching a few of these vids to plan my trip there next June for the 50th of the release and this video takes the cake. Well done dude. I see you went first week of June? Is this before the season begins? What time of day did you film in Edgartown like on the streets and the town hall? Seems like it was very bare and not many people which sounds perfect for this kind of vid.
@wjd329
@wjd329 27 дней назад
@@three11phil thanks man! I appreciate that very much. Yes, we went in early June (like first week) because locals told us it was before the real tourist rush begins but yet the weather is still nice. As far as Edgartown goes, we hit all that early in the morning, typically between 6:30-9:30am and it took 2 separate days to get what we got without vehicles and such in the shots. Have a blast! Good luck! Let me know if you need anymore help with any of it.
