What they do not tell you, if you place a memory stick whether, for a chart or any purpose, The Helix loses its water tightness due to the door being held open and the plug will not go back
Thanks, I was playing with mine today and was totally confused, this is my first "Big" boat"and electronics. Now as soon as break up occurs, I will spend a few days on the water setting up my unit for me to understand.
Great info. My Nitro had this model on the bow but it isn't compatible with The Minn Kota i-Pilot, and a smaller Lowrance Elite towards the stern. Replacing the smaller stern Elite with the Elite7 CHIRP, and installing a new Hummingbird to the i-Pilot at the bow. All in all, I've been very happy with the Elite7.
In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ru-vid.comUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

Save money and buy Garmin ECHOMAP 7 or better. Reason is they included legacy models to except new transducers. Hummingbird doesn't have a wide range of compatible transducers. This is why they sale like 5 different models with dam near 5 different transducers
you sir earned yourself a new subscriber , i was at my local walmart and they only had 3/16th oz drop shot weights for $1 so i got all the packs they had which was 4 packs but they didnt have the 1/4th oz drop shot weights. For the last 3 months since october i have been putting together a collection of barbie baits as i was scrolling through academy's site for 1/4 quarter oz drop shot weights i noticed that zoom had theswamp crawler in white decided to search youtube universe to determine if its worth adding to my collection , you sir just confirmed that for as much as i love zoom and dont get me wrong zoom was the reason why i personally love their worms because 1 decade ago i was fishing a local park and zoom Tequila Sunrise caught me my 1st Largemouth Bass , so ever since i have been diehard loving zoom , but anyways im glad i came to youtube world because of you sir just in case my walmart dont got the 1/4th drop shot weights ima least know for the on coming future that them there zoom worms are worth adding to my barbie bait collection
At the time it was $43K. That was with a power pole as well, but I opted not to have that so slightly cheaper. But you just can’t find a boat loaded out that cheap anymore.
I have an old Humminbird 197C in my boat and I’m researching for something new. The manufacturers of the various brands do not do a good job of explaining things. It’s like you need a PHD for fish finders or something…..Thanks for making this video…..It’s the most in depth and easy to understand video I have found for the Helix. Great job……Wish I could give you double likes…..I will probably go with a Helix 7 with the GPS and SI.
I just order one today from Cabelas. Mine is the Helix 7 G3N. “N” stands for Networkable” so it will link to other units and a Minn Kota trolling motor with I-pilot.
Lots of info. Bit fast and assuming to new user. Need a tripod...screen shot was not centered a lot of time...frustrating for beginner. I'm looking for walleye. Thanks for the info anyway🙂
Great video.. if the pin gets bended would it cause low performance? I hit my trolling motor hard and now it doesn't go as fast as it was b4 even at the 4 or 5 setting. TiA
I was out rock hounding here..and a group of people kept shouting racial slurs...at a African American couple! Really disappointed with this non spiritual town!!!
