Good picks, but hard disagree with choosing Lost Lagoon over Islander Palace. Islanders Palace looked like it was a lost missing unreleased set. Lost Lagoon although impressive, seems both too busy and modern.
Would have liked a few names for these parts, because the part next to the wheels, 0:15, I can't find it anywhere. Been looking through the catalog page by page.
I've learned similar technique for a different reason - so I can remove a wall to fit a camera in there. The part that holds sections together is usually a small plate for easy disconnection.
As a kid cleaning this bathroom was my sister's job and she's definitely a "clean freak". If anything, any spots in the sink was probably from her scrubbing the finish off.
I really like what you can do with MILS. Something I haven't quite figured out yet though is how people use them for buildings. Do they build over modules or do they split it in half where the baseplate ends?
I generally place my buildings and trees on top of MILS but occasionally, I'll made a special MILS compatible module with the building set into the MILS. This is harder to do and generally just makes it harder to transport the building.
I’m the builder of the first Rock Island Refuge. I appreciate your comments and your vote in the contest! I plan to make some improvements before making it available on Rebrickable.
At 04:06 what I mean by saying "the original didn't have this", is that it had the ladder and bridge but it was a bridge to nowhere but back down. This version added a tower to the top for an even better lookout.
My dad has the first Lego castle ever made and he has tons of those knight lego sets. It’s cool but sad to see how lego is evolving (devolving in some cases)
I'm not sure. Bricklink has this other piece (www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3245b&idColor=1#T=C&C=1) with the same inside style identified with a title "Inside Axle Holder" as if to indicate that the inside teeth should be able to hold an axle (which is the same design as what's inside the log pieces) so who knows.
