I did 5 scoops and a full thing and i shadow boxed to this beat firing of mean and nasty hooks that could be measured on the richter scale. Then I pressed the french press before turning on the movie Judgement Night. Thank you guys!
1. Use whole beans 2. Use a burr grinder and grind medium(breadcrumb size) 4. 7 grams to 4 oz water 5. Use soft water, not tap water. 6. Boil water then wait 1 minute for it to cool down.
I just got mine is model 485 not ESP three weeks ago (August 2024) from Amazon. The assembly parts are same but does not came with the small hooper and the small catcher that I don’t really care. However the problem was after setup and started grinding, the hopper self rotated while the blade circling and the beans were not getting any touch from grinding. Then I need to use my hands to hold down the hopper to make it stay in place for working. Isn’t it stupid that I need to holding it down in order to work? It is very frustrated that the machine doesn’t work properly as advertised.
A static electricity management tip I learned from a coffee roasters pod is to take a spray mister bottle and use 1 light mist on your beans and mix them up a little to spread the moisture before grinding. I was surprised how little moisture it takes to not have fly-away grinds around my Baratza Encore+ bin area. I prefer to weigh my beans in a little bowl rather than the Encore bin as clean up is even easier, just rinse the little bowl and put it in the dishrack.
The Baratza Encore grinder is a piece of crap! After 6 months of ownership, it completely breaks down and stops grinding anything. It's sad that youtubers can be bought off to give positive reviews to absolute crap, playing a role in a horrible cycle between amazon, manufacturers, and streamers, to profit off of the mass sales of expensive crap!
