This will forever be the best Hero-"Villain" dynamic. They always wanted the same thing, mutant equality and prosperity, but with different means and different lines. But over all they always respected eachother.
Magneto will always be my boy, young or old. He just had to put pyro in his place because magneto would kill him on the spot if her were to try even attempt to kill charles.....but as if he could😂 Eric and Charles are like 2 sides of a coin: charles finding a way to coexist with humans and Eric lack of trust in humanity because of the fear that would lead humans to try kill all mutants. If you ask me eric was more of a realist than charles, because he witnessed first hand at a young age what humanity is capable of when it comes to those who are considered a threat, charles is focusing on hope for everyone when its his personal dream he's trying to make reality.
I love that there’s a feeling of him mourning Professor X in this moment. Up until I saw this you aren’t given much of a hint of regret then you see it here on display
I really love how despite their differences in method, Xavier and Magneto were never truly enemies at all. They just had too many disagreements to be true allies.
After watching Xavier (seemingly) die, Magneto is obviously doing his best to not appear emotionally vulnerable in front of anyone. This is the moment where the brilliance of Ian McKellen gives us a glimpse of the true depths of the grief that he is hiding.
Erik is a Holocaust survivor. While Charles have one of the most cursed power. Erik saw the ugliness of humanity first hand. And Charles is constantly reminded of it through the voices. Erik saw the ugliness of humanity and decided he must protect others from it. Charles saw the ugliness of humanity and decided to change it. One coin, different side.
Xmen has the potential of being THE SIGNLE GREATEST movie series. They somehow butcher in everytime they bring it to screen. If they can somehow "reset" and try again? They had a STELLAR cast for most roles but somehow messed most of the movies up
Well said!! I think the best pickup spot could be where they left off when Scott was killed by Jean Grey and his glasses were floating in the air at Alkali Lake, (X-Men the last stand)
Replace "Charles Xavier" with "George Lucas" and "Mutants" with "Film making" and "Pyro" with "Every ungrateful & uneducated Lucas hater" and this would still ring true
There's a reason why Eric and Charles would still play chess with each other. They were still friends. Still brothers. Just each fighting a different fight for the same side
As much as I love pyro he should show respect.. im glad magneto put him in his place...that little hot headed fuker😅 pyro now, in Deadpool wolverine, hes all dangerous with fuked up teeth and burn marks in himself. Probably more powerful than when he was a punk.
Respect to that fact that while Charles stood in the way of magnetos goals, magneto would never resort to killing him because of what he’s done for mutants and Charles would never resort to using his powers to control him. Mutual respect from opposite sides of the board.
This is how politics was originally designed to be. 2 factions who have ideas to make the country better over time. Their disagreement was designed to make sure no one faction had complete control and although you may not agree with the solutions the other side proposes you have respect for the goal They're trying to accomplish because both sides have the same goals they just disagree about how to bring them about. But now politics has devolved into pure hate and polarization and alienation of anyone who doesn't see things the way you do. It's very sad
Xavier and Eric loved one another as true brothers. They never wanted the other to hurt or to be hurt and would always be there to defend one another. They were the same ideal on a different side of a coin. True brothers to the end.
Magneto had an air of amusement up until Pyro said he would have killed Xavier. And then he goes from pride in Xavier to ice cold venom for this little shit disrespecting Charles to genuine sadness that his friend is gone. It's subtle but still oh so beautiful to see
